✨ A huge thank you to Wendy, Stacey, and the entire South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce team for putting on such an outstanding evening at the Business and Community Excellence Awards on Friday night.

Running an event of this scale is no small undertaking, and the businesses of South Canterbury are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated group of people investing so much time and effort to make it all happen. These awards give us the chance to showcase what we do to the wider region, and that opportunity is invaluable.

🐄💚 Happy Cow Appreciation Day! 💚🐄

Today, we’re celebrating the true heroes of the paddock - our wonderful moos!

At Meet the Need, we couldn’t do what we do without the support of New Zealand’s incredible dairy farmers and the cows behind the milk and mince that helps nourish families across the motu🥛

Every donation helps us provide foodbanks with nutritious protein - and it all starts with these gentle, hard-working legends.

So here’s a huge THANK MOO to the cows (and their farmers!) who are helping fight food insecurity.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with all our friends, customers, growers, and supporters: Farmers Mill has been named a finalist in not one, not two, but THREE categories in the 2025 Gallagher and South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Excellence Awards!

The categories we’re proud to be recognised in are:

🌱 Environment Canterbury Sustainability and Environmental Award – for our ongoing commitment to sustainability, local sourcing, and reducing our environmental footprint.

💡 2degrees Innovation Award – recognising the innovation and new thinking we’ve brought to the flour milling industry, from digital milling technology to our pioneering work with New Zealand-grown grains.

🚜 PrimePort Timaru Excellence in Primary Industry Award – celebrating excellence in the primary sector and the contribution our team makes to New Zealand’s food supply chain.

These nominations are a huge acknowledgement of the passion, hard work, and dedication of every single person in the Farmers Mill team. From our growers in the fields to our team in the mill and our partners across the country, this is a collective achievement we’re incredibly proud of.
