Kia ora friends & whanau. The Vanilla Bean has moved on & will become something entirely new over the coming months. Keep an eye out for her as she’ll be at local events. Thank you for the fun and friendship developed over time. It was a bu**er of a time to try & run a small business, with the cyclone being the icing on the cake……or the straw that broke the camel’s back. Either way it was fun albiet a financial nightmare. Fun and friendship outweighs financials in the end. Dad would always say ‘Silver linings’✌️❤️

I hope this message finds you all well ✌️❤️ I am very lucky to be in a quiet space for the next 3wks while someone is away from the bay. If anyone knows of a rental property in Havelock/Hastings coming up I’m looking for a new place to call home. The closer to kura the better I think.

My condolences to all of our community who are struggling and who have lost whanau members, homes, memories and so much more. Please respect the rahui.

So...... my last post was something of an understatement re the quiet before the storm, because what a storm she was!

Thank you to everyone who has checked in or contacted me via the various unstable comms system we have had.

The Vanilla Bean herself has survived pretty well, with only minor water damage to the bench it appears. She got power back yesterday and we will know more today when we assess all of the appliances but on the surface we look all good. The outside, other than some debris build up is OK too. The shop floor had some water to deal with and we'll look further into all of this over the coming week.

Due to my losing my home in the floods (which was nothing compared to so many) I haven't been able to think too much about this little van of happiness so will update you when the world around us is all slightly more functional.
