Why fight fire with fire, when we can fight fire with kai, ya?

In response to Operation Trolley, a three day police operation that saw houseless whānau in Rotorua harassed and arrested for carrying their possessions in supermarket trolleys, we felt the need organise our own little targeted operation.

So let me introduce Operation Feed The People… a one night event where our houseless whānau and anyone in need can come get a free feed and feel the love of the wider Rotorua community. It’s not just about kai but about connecting with people in different parts of our community so in need or not I welcome you to come down. Please share this widely so we can spread the word.

If you feel like jumping on the kaupapa you can give a koha, come and buy a feed or straight up just come down to hang out, I’ll put my good playlist on.

But if you REALLY wanna tautoko the cause? Please vote in this year’s local body elections and next year’s general one. It’s thanks to the likes of Todd McClay (MP for Rotorua) and our conservative ass council that we have this sorta bu****it going on.

Hatred and fear breed at a distance but love and empathy can w**d that s**t out when we come together. Chur.
