✨️Family Food & Special 'German Chanson Night'! Fri 19th June ✨️

We invite you on a musical journey to Berlin in the 1920s and 1930s, where you will discover some of the most famous songs of the era and have the opportunity to sing along to well-loved melodies.

Many of the composers and performers behind these songs were forced to flee Germany in the years that followed. Yet their music has endured, and today their sophisticated arrangements, witty lyrics, and timeless charm continue to captivate audiences around the world.

Bring your German-speaking friends! For non-German speakers, English introductions will be provided throughout the evening, ensuring that everyone can enjoy and appreciate the music.

We will serve a vegan and gluten-free German Sauerkraut dish with potatoes.
$12/$6 and under 6 years get a freebie 🥰
Food will be served from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, and the music will begin at 7:00 pm.

Come one and all to join in the fun for our monthly Open Mic Night this Friday 12th June! Jez Francis & Flo Pauls are backing you with instruments and talent or fly solo and do your thing! Everyone welcome! Stage opens from 6.30pm 🎶🎤🎉

Verena and elves are making a fragrant Cambodian Curry, served with rice and a side salad for an unbeatable $12/$6 per bowl, little people under 6 get a freebie 🥰

Yes, it is true! The Wingers are coming to Riverside again and we are excited 🤩

Together with Rich on vocals, guitar and flute, Louise on Banjo, Denise on percussion and vocals and Simon on double bass they form 'The Wingers'.

Experts at improvisation, The Wingers' vast musical talents create a fun wholesome space for everyone to enjoy live music filled with love, soul, and fun.

Come on a musical adventure with fun familiar tunes, heartfelt original songs, and wild and whimsical improvisations. MUSIC at Riverside Community Centre from 7pm.

Come and sing along this Friday! We will have a lyrics sheet to about 100 songs ready for you and our favourite piano man Jez is fabulous at playing any additional song wishes he knows 🤩

Something new is brewing at Kōmitimiti! Our (so far Friday) Barista Andrew is going to hold space for everybody at COMMON GROUND, a wee café on Thursdays & Fridays here at Kōmitimiti 🎉 read on for his message and details 🤗

"Hi, I’ll be taking over the Kōmitimiti Café space at Riverside for two days a week with a new café “Common Ground”. Many of you know me but for those that don’t, my name is Andrew. I’m passionate about coffee and food and I’m bringing a fresh, inclusive vibe to your Thursdays - from 10am to 2pm - and Fridays - 10am to 4pm.

What’s on the menu?
· Freshly brewed coffee and drinks selection
· Seasonal, warming soups
· A rotating selection of counter food, always with vegan and veggie – friendly choices available

It’s simple, fresh and friendly and welcome for everyone."

Therefore our new opening hours are:
Thursdays 10am - 2pm

Hey folks! As we are expecting rain and wind for tomorrow late afternoon and large volumes for Hester's gig, we have decided to move our operation up to the Riverside Centre from 5.30pm. The hub will be open from 3pm for afternoon tea, but we will close the hub at 5.30pm and serve dinner as well as desserts and drinks from 5.30pm at the hall!
Hester will play from 6.30pm at the hall.

Please watch this space in case we have to cancel due to weather warnings 🙏🏼

Oh boy, are we excited to welcome back HESTER P to our stage this Friday evening for a proper boogie 💃🎉🎶

Hester P's favourite past time is supporting revolutions starting with noisy soul shake downs. Her DJ sets have been lighting up festivals, clubs, outdoor venues and of course the Local Nelson Conscious Dance floor for 20 years. Hester is a somatic therapist and facilitates regular conscious dance space in Nelson. She has no allegiance to any genre and her sets delightfully traverse soundscapes and inspire the desire to moooove.
Hester will start her set around 6.30pm 🎉

While Verena isn't entirely sure yet what she'll make this Friday (sorry folks, but creativity flows in its on time 🤷🏼‍♀️😅), we can be sure it will be gluten free, vegan and absolutely delicious 🤤 dinner from 5.45pm 🍲

We are on the lookout again for lovely people who would like to support our Friday nights by volunteering some of their time. Volunteering comes in all shapes and time frames and doesn't have to mean a long term commitment , PM or chat to us if this sparks any interest ✨️

We continue to open Fridays from 4pm to 8.30pm and will alert you as soon as more things shape up here at Kōmitimiti ❤️
