🕊️ Remembering Our Dear Friend, Jill Brown 💗
This week, we said goodbye to our dear friend Jill Brown.
Jill had been a regular at The Bach since the very beginning, and even before that, at Yellow Café some 30 years ago. Jill was never just another customer to us. She was someone special who could brighten everyone’s day the moment she walked through the door. “Hi there, dear!” was her signature greeting, always accompanied by that big, pearly-white smile.
Her food choices changed depending on the time of day, but one thing was always guaranteed — a half-strength flat white in a bowl! ☕️ You would often find Jill sitting doing her crosswords and code crackers, or reading a rather racy Mills & Boon novel!
Jill adored her family and would never miss her grandchildren’s sporting events or the chance to watch a game on TV. She also never left The Bach without a hug. Even when we were busy, she would patiently stand at the end of the counter until we’d finished serving the last customer, just to make sure she could say goodbye properly.
It’s been a hard week not hearing that familiar greeting as Jill walked through our door. We will miss her smile, her stories and, most of all, those wonderful hugs. Little did we know that our last hug would be our final one, but it’s a memory we will always cherish.
Rest peacefully, Jill. 🕊️ Thank you for all the years of friendship, smiles and hugs. You were so much more than a customer to us, and you will be dearly missed by all of your Bach family. 💗
