Motu-vation Cafe A warm welcome and a hot tea/coffee, up in the highlands of the East Cape. Close to the Motu Falls, and the top of the Pakihi cycle/walk track.

I'd love to tell you a story of how wonderful owning a Cafe is, but this past two years it has not been remotely fun. I have thought long and hard about Motu-Vation's future, my future, family, and what I came to Motu for. With these things in mind, I am shutting the Cafe and will not be cooking for the Community House visitors in 2022. If I can get the house renos finished, the garden up to stratch, the total revamp of the little museum done, and Covid is no longer ruling our lives, I will review my options.
Thank-you to everyone who has supported Motu-Vation, you are wonderful, and it has been my privilege to meet you.
Hopefully the future will be brighter as the coming year unfolds, and I wish you and your's all the best in 2022.

Well, I do believe it was am Aussie PM that said life wasn't meant to be easy, but hay it could be just a little bit less complicated.
Very big thanks to Blue House Computing Gisborne for saving everything, including four years research on Motu history, that was on my zapped computer hard drive, and a big hug and thanks to my daughter Robyn for helping me set up all the bits and pieces, like facebook and email, that keep us connected to you all.
Sending love to you all, stay safe, Karen and Co.

Since the big storm Friday we have been without internet and phone as our dish was struck. It also took out the electricity when it blew up the transformer outside the shop, at least that was fixed on Monday, but it seems getting the internet back on is a bit harder. A lovely electrician has tested everything he can, replaced blown bits and pieces and has isolated the problem; the dish, but now we have to see our provider to get a new dish. So for now we are off line. I'm at my daughters writing this, and will let you know when Motu-Vation is back on line. All the best, Kaz.
