Open: Mon-Sat 8am-late, Sun 10am-late. Purchased by ex All Black/Maori All Black Pat Walsh in the mid 1980's, he set about transforming the Mangere Bridge Tavern with his wife Noelene and later in the 1990's with his son Mark aka “ Walshy” who is the current proprietor and has a team of 18 led by General Manager Trevor Westrupp. When you see the place today you will be impressed by the nice work

Pat and his family have put into the place making it the premier place to visit in the Mangere Bridge area. The Mangere Bridge Tavern has been one of the centre points of the community since it was built in 1968. Originally named The Mangere Bridge Tavern or as the community referred to as “The Lazy Lion” it was the flagship Hotel for the Auckland Lion Breweries in the late 60’s and in the 70’s renamed The Black Bridge Tavern.
