Kia ora Compass community, unfortunately we have to close tomorrow for circumstances outside of our control. Which is a shame as it's been beautiful (and very busy) the last few days! But, as we all know, life can throw the odd spanner in the works, and you just have to roll with it. We will be back up and running on Thursday 25 June and hope to see you all then. Wow, it's been another great month here at Compass!

This gorgeous weather certainly helps, along with the long-awaited openings of Te Ara Tupua/Wellington to Petone and Tupua Horo Nuku/Eastern Bays bike paths. We were glad we invested in some more bike racks as they are definitely getting used!

We'll be open all long weekend, rain or shine, with the following hours and no public holiday surcharge as always:
Fri 29/5: 7am to 3pm
Sat 30/5: 8am to 3pm
Sun 31/5: 8am to 3pm
Mon 1/6: 8am to 3pm
Tue 2/6: back to normal hours

Big week (and weekend) at Compass Coffee 🧭☕

Last Wednesday we joined Too Good To Go as part of their Wellington launch, helping rescue good food from going to waste, one surprise bag at a time. We’re also actively looking at improving our waste and recycling options at the café, alongside these sustainability steps, more to come on that soon!

Last weekend we were honoured to cater the opening of Tupua Horo Nuku/Eastern Bays pathway. What a special community event and a such a privilege to support. Huge thanks to Hutt City Council for the opportunity.

And… we’ve added two new bike racks outside the café 🚲 so it’s even easier to stop in on your ride around the bays!

To top it all off, today was our busiest trading day ever. Honestly, we’re a bit blown away. Thank you for backing a small local business, every coffee, every catering order, every visit matters.

Kia ora, we just wanted to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to our wonderful customers.

Yesterday marked our 6-month anniversary from taking over Compass and March was our biggest month to date, with April looking even better so far! Despite some pretty dire economic times, so many of you have chosen to spend your hard-earned dollars with us and we are so humbled by your support.

In a few other updates, we are very proud to support the opening of Tupua Horo Nuku/Eastern Bays pathway this Saturday. We already have many customers who cycle and walk to us, and after 4 years of disruption, we know this is a huge milestone that is dear to many of you. As such, we have some extra bike racks on order and hope to have them in place for this weekend!

We have also been on the lookout for options to reduce food waste and support our local community and have signed up with Too Good To Go. The launch date is a couple of weeks away and we'll update here soon!

Many of you have also asked if we will introduce loyalty cards, we are looking into the options and will let you all know as soon as we are ready to go :)

An early morning delivery of our much-loved cinnamon custard brioche from Dough Bakery didn’t quite make it to the cabinet today…

Somewhere between delivery and opening, a very efficient individual helped themselves to 12 of them.
