And now, news from the "the hits just keep on coming desk".
It turns out the flood damage we experienced at the cafe was far more serious than we first thought, and we need to move out for a while for repairs and rebuilding to be done. It could take weeks, it could take months, your guess is as good as mine.
So.... after much deliberation, exclamation, consternation, and plenty of profanity, we have decided to extend the operating hours of The One Next Door and run a cafe by day, and restaurant by night.
So starting Saturday 21 Feb, The One Next Door will be the place to be.
We will be open at 7.30am, seven days a week, there will be a breakfast, there will be scones, there will be perfectly made coffees, your favourite slices... they will be there too.
Think of it as "The Little River Cafe.... just Next Door".
The general store side of our business will continue to operate as usual as much as it can. So your bread, milk, groceries, ice creams, beer and wine will be available as usual.
I don't have any more details right now. There are so many moving parts to this that my head is about to explode. Over the next few days things will fall in to place (I hope), and we will have a clearer picture of how this will work. When I suss it out, you'll be the first to know.
Please bear with us as we navigate this wee chapter in our cafes history. We will do our best to make this as smooth as we can for all of you, but please understand, for now, we are doing the best we can with what we have.
To all the other people doing it tough right now and trying to mop up and rebuild from this nightmare, our thoughts are with you, we can do it, one day at a time.
