Well, well, wellโฆ look who's back for another Monday debrief. ๐
Last week delivered a little bit of everything โ big hair, big wins, big voices and an even bigger scoreline against the Aussies.
You know the drill. Grab a cuppa, get comfortable and let's get into it. ๐
๐ Tuesday we kicked off OLD SCHOOL OCTOBER with our 70s Jingo, and you lot packed the place out!
A few brave souls embraced the decade and walked away with some prize bags for their efforts. We're hoping to see even MORE of you getting amongst the dress-ups this week. Don't be shy, we've seen worse fashion choices on a normal Friday night. ๐
๐ Wednesday we welcomed the SGHS England Trip crew for their Jingo fundraiser. Another fantastic night with plenty of support for a great cause. Thank you to everyone who came along, bought cards and got amongst it! โค๏ธ
๐ Thursday saw the return of S&Mโฆ and before anyone gets too excited, we're talking about Sadie Wech & Matt Murray! ๐ถ๐ Plenty of dancing, a few guest appearances on the microphone, and even our very own Lauren from behind the bar got up to join Sadie for a song!
Apparently serving drinks isn't her only talent. ๐
๐ Friday was Round TWO of our Old School October Karaoke Comp, and another two contestants have sung their way into the Grand Final! ๐ค
A MASSIVE congratulations to Boogie Neho & Jaymie Ledington, who join Kyla Elder & Sophie Harper in the hunt for that $500 cash first prize! Four finalists down, four more qualifiers and a wildcard still to come! ๐
๐ Saturdayโฆ well, what can we say? ๐๐
A PACKED bar, the Bledisloe Cup on the line, and the All Blacks decided to put on a bit of a show!
After a reasonably close first half, the boys came out firing and handed the Wallabies a 50โ19 hiding at Eden Park. Nice one boys.
๐ And while the All Blacks were giving the Aussies a lesson, our sponsored BMAC Racing boys were having a pretty successful outing of their own! ๐
Josh & Jacob McIntyre were racing at Aotea Riverside Speedway, and apparently finishing anywhere other than the top two wasn't on the agenda!
๐ Josh โ TWO 1st places & a 2nd!
๐ Jacob โ ONE 1st place & TWO 2nds!
Not a bad day's work, boys! Congratulations from all of us at The Kiwi! ๐
RIGHT. Enough looking backwards, what's happening THIS WEEK?! ๐
๐ TUESDAY: OLD SCHOOL OCTOBER: THE 80s! ๐บ
We're swapping the flares for shoulder pads, big hair and enough hairspray to put a hole in the ozone layer!
80s Jingo kicks off at 7pm, and there's a prize for the BEST DRESSED TABLE!
Come on team, we know you've got some absolute fashion crimes hiding in those wardrobes. Let's see them! Bookings essential!
๐ WEDNESDAY: JINGO FUNDRAISER โค๏ธ
This week we're supporting Hokonui U18 Marching!
Be here from 6.30pm, grab your Jingo cards, get amongst the raffles and help support another fantastic local group.
๐ THURSDAY: BULLS & BALL GAMES! ๐๐
Bruno's back from 9pm, ready to test your staying power!
Then at 10.05pm, the Rugby League World Cup kicks off with the NZ Kiwis taking on the Australian Kangaroos! We'll have the game LIVE on the big screens!
Apparently one trans-Tasman rivalry in a week just wasn't enough. ๐
๐ FRIDAY: KARAOKE QUALIFIER #3! ๐ค
We're heading back to the 80s for the THIRD qualifying round of our Old School October Karaoke Comp!
And this week we've got a special guest judge joining usโฆ ItsthatVgirl! โจ
Another two spots in the Grand Final are up for grabs, so dig out those 80s bangers, dress the part and get ready to impress! 9.30pm onwards!
๐ SATURDAY: BLEDISLOE & DIVORCED DAD ROCK! ๐ค๐ธ
The All Blacks are back for Round Two against the Wallabies, LIVE from Sydney at 6pm!
Can the Aussies redeem themselves after last week's hiding? Or are the boys in black about to make it two from two? ๐ BOOK YOUR TABLES!
Then once the final whistle blows, we're turning up the dad rock! ๐ธ
It's DIVORCED DAD ROCK NIGHT, with the DJ bringing you the tunes that belong on a road trip playlist, in the garage or blasting from the stereo while Dad's mowing the lawns.
Think Nickelback, Creed, Daughtry, 3 Doors Down and all those glorious guilty pleasures.
Jorts optional. ๐
๐ SUNDAY: HANDLE CLUB TURNS THREE! ๐
THREE YEARS of our Handle Club crew!
To all our Handle Club members, thanks for being part of what makes The Kiwi, The Kiwi. โค๏ธ
PHEW. ๐ฎโ๐จ
If you've made it this far, congratulations. You're officially caught up on the goss!
Another massive week ahead, and apparently nobody around here knows how to have a quiet one.
We'll see you at The Kiwi!
P.S. If you've made it this far, we're going to drop 3 albums of photos tonight so be prepared for the tags
