We compared three identical family meals for six people from the supermarket and the total came to $123.99 ($6.88 per serve). Kete’s 3 Meal Kit is a flat $79 every week, no matter the menu, working out to just $4.38 per serve — a saving of $44.99. Plus, your kai is sourced locally, you can swap a meal or meat option at no extra cost, and we’ve already done the planning for you. Less money spent, less mental load, and more time around the table with your whānau. Order before Thursday night at ketetrust.org.nz.

who have used Kete before, believe in the kaupapa, and would love to help more whānau in their school community access healthy meals for less.

We believe whānau helping whānau is the best way to create lasting impact 🌱

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), please send us a message — we’d love to chat!

Kia ora Whānau

Just a reminder that Kete is a really good deal for easy, and well priced meals, which are delivered weekly.

If you are whānau of Te Hapara School, you can receive a discounted price! Contact Marilyn at the school office and she will talk you through the process.

Kete now give loads more options - you can get full meals packs - which include all the ingredients and the recipes (kind of like My Food Bag), or just the basics - meat and veggies.

The packs can be dropped at school for no extra charge so all you need to do is pick them up when you collect your children.

Check out this poster and their FB page for information.

Here is an opportunity for next week - Week 7.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who continue to show up and help support Kete each week.

Today we had Tina from the Gisborne Volunteer Centre helping host our Community Hub pickup, welcoming whānau and helping make the afternoon run smoothly.

Kete truly wouldn’t work without people willing to give their time, energy, and kindness to help our community eat well for less.

From packing boxes, helping at pickups, supporting deliveries, or simply lending a hand where needed — every volunteer makes a real difference.

We’ve shared a lot of laughs, met some beautiful people, and together we’ve helped feed more local households each week.

We’re also currently looking for another volunteer who may be able to help us on Wednesdays delivering Kete to local schools.

This role would involve:
• Helping load and deliver Kete to school pickup points
• Being part of a positive community kaupapa
• Supporting local whānau to access affordable kai

If you, or someone you know, might be interested, please send us a message.

From community, for community.
