Silke’s bread lands at Verde every Thursday during school term and if you haven’t tried, you should.

Silke bakes out of Timaru under the name Echt Sourdough.

Echt is a German word for genuine, real, authentic. That’s the whole brief. Every loaf is made with Canterbury grains, water, salt. That’s it.

Order online, then pick up from our veranda between 12.30 and 4pm on Thursdays. Your labelled parcel will be waiting in a sealed box. Pay online as pick up is self service.

It’s baaaack!!! We’ve heard all your requests (demands 😅) to bring back our famous Lamb Flatbread and so, here it is. For the month of June we will have our Lamb Flatbread available with a cold beer from our neighbours at Bonnie Day. You couldn’t imagine a better pairing.

Wow, 22 almond croissants all sold out within 2hrs!

We had people coming to get them that said they haven’t been here in 6 months, but they made a special trip for the croissants. Thank you!!

Three Days.
That’s how long it takes to make our handmade almond croissants. The first day we start with the dough. Second day is shaping & baking. Third day we fill with our frangipane filling & brush with honey before a final bake.
Come in tomorrow and see what all the fuss is about.

Throwing it back to our Autumn Harvest dinner. The food and the cause behind this event were the stars of the night, but honestly, the people behind it were too.

Verde after Dark is as much about the relationships as it is the meal. The producers we work with are our neighbours. Geraldine, Woodbury, Wi******er, Pleasant Point. When you sit down at one of these dinners, you are eating food grown and raised by people Joe knows by name, and that means everything to us.

Verde & Friends is back, and this time we are welcoming Arisa to the garden with her second dog grooming pop-up.

Bring your pup in for a nail trim and light grooming on Friday 22 May, 9am to 11:30am. Any dog, just $10.

A small note worth reading before you come.

Depending on the dog’s personality, this may not be a situation they are comfortable with. In some cases, if the dog is overly stressed, anxious, or too unsettled to safely complete the nail trim, Arisa might not be able to continue. If needed, she can discuss other options afterwards, such as arranging a visit at the client’s home.

We did it.

Thanks to everyone who dined with us during the Autumn Harvest Fundraiser, we’re donating $3000 to the 36 Wilson Street Kindergarten Project.

None of it would have happened without some pretty incredible people. A huge thank you to Ange Blair, Orari Gorge Station, Judy Lyttle, Petra and Jack van der Sanden, Peter Keller, and the Geraldine Garden Centre for donating the most beautiful ingredients. And to the Verde team (Lucie, Francisco, Bo and Fernanda), who gave up their time to make the whole thing happen.

This is what we love most about Geraldine. People just get in and help.

Thank you, genuinely, to every single person who came in and ate with us. You made this possible.
