Our toast is a nod to the White House in Wānaka, Gus's „home“ for 10 years and, as it happens, the place where he and Jana first met on the job 😂
On it: Whitestone Cheese creamy Windsor Blue, crisp nashi pear, pickled beetroot, Augustines of Central quince paste, fresh greens and a drizzle of quince vinaigrette.
Not a blue cheese fan? We get it, but this one's a crowd favourite from back in the White House days, and it's converted plenty of doubters before. Come give it a go!❤️👌🧀

We have 48 lamingtons in all different flavours 🍫 plus our core range of fruit danishes, cakes and pastries 🥐

Sorry, toast fans! 🍞 There's no video of the "star" today, as we're keeping the same toast of the week as last weekend. You all LOVED it that much! It comes with marmalade BBQ pork, ugli fruit, pickled fennel, wasabi peas and greens.
Our new ham & cheese pain suisse flew out the door last weekend 🥐 Please note we only make 8 of them, so be quick!
I'm afraid the weekend is looking very booked up, though there might be some space around 8:30am. If you'd like to secure a spot inside, book soon! Remember: no bookings are available on Fridays, so just pop in whenever you like. ☀️

And we’re back ❤️
Jeannie has been busy picking daffodils for the tables and a few extra bunches for some of our regular customers as little welcome-back gifts.
We’ve also got a couple of new things on the menu: Pain Suisse with ham & cheese, plus savoury scones with Tasty cheese and chutneys. Both flew out the door yesterday!
We’re so stoked to have you back. Thanks for making our first day back so special.

Gus is back: slinging toast again. 🔥
And this week’s toast is a favourite of many of you: Gus’s BBQ Pork toast.
Marmalade BBQ pork, Ugli fruit, apricot ketchup, pickled fennel, wasabi peas & fresh greens. 🤤
Also, how funny… I couldn’t believe someone in Wellington asked Gus if he was the guy making the toast videos in Dunedin! 😂 Gosh, you guys really are watching.
We can’t wait to see you all from tomorrow, 8:30am. ❤️

Only TWO more weekends until Augustines is back OPEN! 🥳
Here are a few snaps from our NZ holiday so far. We’re currently in Rotorua, where Gus is out enjoying a long bike ride through the beautiful forest.
So far we’ve been to Wānaka (Father's Day Popina - Queensberry), Christchurch, Hanmer Springs, Kaikōura, Blenheim, Napier and now Rotorua.
Our last stop will include Ōakura, Wellington, Nelson and Golden Bay.
We’re loving spending this time with Otto, exploring, slowing down a little and seeing more of our own backyard.
But we’re also VERY excited to get back to Augustines of Portobello and see you all again SOON!

Hello, Augustines friends!
We have two Toasts of the Week this weekend (until stock lasts) — the smoked mackerel one, as well as the Swiss brown mushroom & pumpkin purée toast from a few weeks ago.
So, a full menu this weekend before we take our September break!
We’re also raising funds for the Cancer Society New Zealand this weekend 💛💛💛. Grab a $2 ticket for your chance to win a mega 2-litre jar of preserved apricots. All proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Society.
Come and see us today or tomorrow for one last Augustines weekend, and then we’ll be back on 2 October.

The last Toast of the Week video with Gus for a little while! And as you can see, he definitely needs a holiday… just look at where that hat is sitting 😂
So, you’ve got two Toasts of the Week to choose from tomorrow. The smoked mackerel toast Gus is talking about here, plus the Swiss brown mushroom and pumpkin purée toast from a couple of weeks ago is back by popular demand.
I’ve also finally sorted the man out with a microphone. What do you guys think? Doesn’t he have a lovely voice? 😂
