Kia ora e te whānau!

Another rawe lunch service at Pātaka Ora. Ngā mihi nui to all our manuhiri who joined us today for lunch on a chilly Monday. Our amazing volunteers put on a wonderful hakari. Shout out to the Youth Grow kaimahi & rangatahi who helped with kai prep today!

We served Fish Curry, chicken mushroom creamy spaghetti, Vege soup, Vege frittata, an array of salads and other yummy kai. Followed up with banana cake, fruit salad and a Rhubarb & apple crumble.

Ngā mihi to Rachel our Head Chef, Whaea Hilda & our Rangatira Tania for your leadership. Big ups to Kiwiharvest for your regular kai donation to tautoko this kaupapa.

Everyone is always welcome to take home kai for themselves, their whānau, friends & neighbours. Any leftover kai goes to other community orgs. Today we dropped off a kai donation to Moana House (Te Taketake).

Our next meal service is on Monday 29th June from 6pm. Come & join us for dinner x

Kia ora e te whānau

Another amazing service last night at Pātaka Ora. A great turnout of the hāpori and it was beautiful to see so many people come & join us for a delicious home cooked dinner by our wonderful volunteers. Ngā mihi nui for wanting to be part of this kaupapa. We truly appreciate every one of you.

Ka Aroha to our Iranian whānau who held a special tree planting ceremony in memory of the protesters who were killed in January and the innocent civilians who have lost their lives since the War began.

Ngā mihi nui for allowing us to be part of this ceremony with you, sharing in your grief & hope of a better future for your people, your whānau in Iran & in Aotearoa. The ātaahua heartfelt whaikōrero accompanied by poetry and music from Iran which expressed your sorrow and Aroha for your homeland. The connection with Te Ao Māori-the importance of whānau, Manaakitanga, a love of poetry & waiata and the significance of having roots to the whenua.

We feel privileged you have chosen Araiteuru Marae as the kainga for your hāpori and a special place for you all to come together to remember the lives that have been lost and the hope for the freedom of your people.

As the tree with its roots firmly planted in the whenua, each one of you, your tamariki & whānau are now also a part of this whenua. I genuinely hope this special place provides you with healing, peace, warmth and belonging. This is your home away from home. You are now part of the Araiteuru Marae whānau ❤️

It's important to awhi and tautoko everyone in our community no matter where they come from. We are all whānau. Everyone deserves freedom, peace and the right to feel safe from violence and persecution. The kaupapa of Araiteuru Marae is Aroha ki te Tangata Love of the people-all people.

Ngā mihi nui to our Rangatira Tania Sharee Williams for leading with aroha & compassion. We are very fortunate to have you embrace all our different communities and providing a safe space where we can come together to love one another, grief together, learn from each other & show aroha & support to all our communities.

To our Iranian whānau Ali Mostolizadeh Mona Tavakoli Pooneh Torabian Bahamin Badihi Farzane LK Mitra Mohamadi Darestani, Maryam Sadin & friends & whānau. Our hearts are always with you ♥️ We will continue to be there for you to awhi & tautoko. Arohanui x 🕊🕊❤️

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata he tangata he tangata!
