It's with a heavy heart I share that I will not be opening SUGAR Coffee Shop.
While its a wonderful opportunity, it's now one for someone else. EVERYTHING you need to open is available (including my support if it's desired) - the furniture, plates, cups, kitchen equipment, fridges, freezers, display cabinets... RECIPES ... everything!

It is with great frustration and sadness that I have to let you know the opening of Sugar is not happening next week. There have been a series of hiccups, (as there always are) but one in particular has left us without the equipment we need to open and the company cannot deliver before Christmas.
I will let you know what the new plan is early next year. Take care, stay healthy and have a wonderful Christmas.

Opening day is approaching!
While we are sadly unable to open on 1 December as hoped (issues getting some equipment into NZ on time) we are set to open Tuesday 13 December at 7.30am! Yippee - can't wait.
We will start our coffee journey by opening 5 days per week from 7.30am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday. We will get through the silly season and review this based on the demand and our internal team resources.

Are you looking forward to the opening of Sugar?
Without the right team Sugar will not open.

I have been so touched at the support we have had, however, the response to my advertising for team members has been low
So if you were thinking of calling me, please do. There is flexibility in days and hours, but if I do not find at least 1 key person looking for a permanent position to manage the coffee shop, then the opening will not happen.
I am looking for someone with the right personality and attitude - the actual skills can be taught.
Please spread the word and I I hope to find the right people soon.

Team players needed! 2 key positions available...
We are looking for 2 friendly, go-getters to take a lead roles in Diamond Harbour’s newest business – Sugar Coffee Shop. Located in Salt Takeaways, Sugar ‘n Salt will be open from 7.30am to 2.30pm (possibly earlier if there is demand and the staff available), serving up barista coffee, and a selection of yummy treats.
We are seeking two senior team members to join our team:
• Coffee Shop Superstar – basic food preparation, customer service
• Experienced barista (or a willingness to learn)

Hours for each role are between 28 to 40 per week, including the weekend. With the addition of part-time staff, there is the possibility of reducing your hours to include only one weekend day shift per week (so a Saturday or Sunday off – we will also have reduced weekend trading hours - 8am to 1.00pm (ish)). Sugar will operate all year round.
The roles…
Coffee Shop Superstar:
• Coffee shop opening and preparation for service
• Make basic sandwiches, filled rolls and other basic items – full training and processes provided
• Fill cabinets, presenting food in accordance with Sugar’s high standards
• Serve customers
• Assist with food ordering
• Generally care for, clean and maintain the coffee shop environment

Barista:
• Coffee shop closing
• Oversee all coffee making and ordering
• Customer service
• Generally care for, clean and maintain the coffee shop environment

We are hiring!
Barista needed or a budding barista - full training provided.
Service staff - in addition to being the smiling face at the counter, you will be making sandwiches and a few other fresh treats daily.
We have several full time permanent positions available. There are also opportunities for part time and casual work.
We will open 5 days per week initially - Wednesday to Sunday with your workday starting from around 7am through to 3.30pm.
