Farewell Jasmine Dunnet 😢 all the best, you've been an amazing work friend, colleauge and employee to have around! All the added extras, the shifts you've covered, and the getting stuck in and getting it done, early mornings that have turned into late nights, absolute rockstar! Good luck for your next adventure ❤️

It's a sad day for us here at Five Stags Cromwell and Forage Cafe. It's Jazz's last day today. 🥲

All the best from all of us, thanks for the laughs, the coffees, and all your hard work over the stupidly busy summer season.

“Tracy, today we’re not just farewelling a colleague—we’re farewelling an icon, a piece of The Gate history, and quite honestly, the glue that helped hold this place together more times than we can count.

You started at The Golden Gate Lodge 22 years ago as a young adult, and the chaos, fun, and legendary stories began.

We’ve watched you dance on tabletops like it was a Saturday night ritual, strut your stuff like the pub was your runway, have post‑mix gun fights, drink straight from the beer taps — sneak out for your cheeky ci******es, and power through those infamous lock-ins in the public bar.

You nailed it as a single parent, pulled off helping with a full rebrand to The Gate like an absolute boss, fallen madly in love with your ‘delicious chocolate man’—our Baker—got engaged, got married, and added two more beautiful kids to your family.

But Tracy… here’s the part that comes from me (Tia)
When I first moved to Cromwell 21 years ago, you were my rock. You made this town bearable, you became an aunty to my children, and you showed me what a true bestie looks like. You weren’t just a friend—you became family. And you still are.

We’ve watched you battle a Coke Zero addiction, almost s**t yourself from gluten intolerance a number of times, and work alongside more staff members than we could ever count.

And through every version of this place, you’ve been the heartbeat—the queen of ‘Oh yes, we can do that!’ “This ain’t my first rodeo” and the owner of the most infectious smile and wavering hands in the building.

Today we’re not just losing your knowledge—we’re losing a piece of history.

Highlands has no idea how lucky they are to have you.

We’ll miss the sass, the laughs, the memories, and most of all your hand gestures.

So here’s to you, Trace. Thank you for everything! The place won’t be the same without you :)

PS: Tracy had actually resigned before me - for those of you who asking 😂

MY WORK WIFE

A "work wife” is a close, platonic coworker with whom you share a deep bond of trust, support, and loyalty, similar to a spousal relationship but without romance, providing emotional safety and camaraderie at work.

Poor Glen

I arrived at the Golden Gate Lodge in August 2005, and there was a young waitress called Tia Campbell that worked in the Pisa Café & Roaring Megs Bar. She slowly progressed to Café Supervisor, then we separated as she went on maternity leave, before missing me and returning.

There she continued in a supervisory role before we separated again and she became a helper/cook at the early learning Centre, again she missed me and returned. We separated again and she headed to Aussie for the 1st time, BUT again she missed me and the separation was short lived

She returned as Café Manager in 2016 but wait I decided to head to ITM and again we separated, but she missed me and came to.

We separated again in 2018 when returned to the Gate and again Tia missed me and she returned too as Operation Manager before taking on the General Managers role.

It has been one hell of a journey, 20 years – marriages, children, deaths, staff, fires, floods, refurbs, rebuilds and Harleys.
BUT Tia is more than a colleague she has been my friend, my mate and supporter.

But you get two for the price of one. Her husband Carl has always supported Tia and supported me; he has often turned up with his welder and toolbox to help us. He has run the Gable household when Tia has been called in, it is 20 years of Christmas holidays off for him and extra hours for her.

They have produced 3 amazing staff members, with Jayda, Billie and Ashdyn.

Carl and Tia are an amazing team and when you look around the property and see the huge changes you can clearly see her influence.
It is with sadness, jealousy and excitement that we will be saying goodbye, I think that my work wife is leaving me for good.
She and Carl head over to Aussie to have an adventure, you will both be missed.
