Have you tried saying Polotmavy yet? 😄

Pronounced poh-loh-TMAH-vee, Emerson's Brewery's latest limited edition is a Czech Amber Lager that is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink - and that photo says it all.

Polotmavy translates from Czech for Half-Dark, and it sits perfectly in that in-between space - just like the season we're in right now. The days are getting longer, the sun is starting to linger a little later, but there's still a definite chill in the air. This is the pint for exactly that moment.

Light and drinkable with a lovely toasty malt character and Czech Saaz hops, it's the kind of beer you settle into without even noticing how quickly the glass empties. At 5.2% it's a very easy afternoon companion🍺

Fresh from success at the recent Brewers Guild Awards, Richard Emerson will be joining us tomorrow night! From 5.30pm, and at intervals throughout the night, we’ll be pouring samples from deep within the Emerson’s cellar - including a 2012 Barley Wine, the 2014 vintage of Taieri George, and a couple more treats we’ve been quietly sitting on.

Never tried a vintage beer? Never chewed the fat with a vintage brewer? Tomorrow night, at your favourite vintage local, you can tick off both.

Some originals are worth going back to 🍺 Especially when they’re Award winning! 🏆

Emerson's Brewery Pride of the Plains has arrived at the - and if you know your Emerson's history, you'll know just how special this one is. First brewed on 16 May 1995, Pride of the Plains was the original name for what would become the iconic Emerson's Pilsner. Brewed with Saaz D hops - now known as Riwaka - the reboot stays true to the original single-hop recipe, delivering the same bold fruit flavours with beautiful notes of passionfruit and lime at a sessionable 5%.

And last night it won big as it was named Best NZ Lager and Pilsner at the NZ Beeer Awards!

As Emerson's put it - everyone loves an original. The original song, the original movie, the original sneakers. And now, the original award-winning Pilsner 🍻

Make the most of it. It might not be around again for another 30 years.

If ever there was a beer made for a cold winter's night, it's this one ❄️

Emerson's Brewery's Rock and Pillar Robust Porter has arrived at the , and the timing couldn't be better. Named after the Rock and Pillar Range that looks over Middlemarch - the small Otago town that Richard Emerson calls home - this dark beauty sits somewhere between a brown porter and a stout, robust with rich malt, roasted cocoa, dark chocolate and coffee flavours that are, as Emerson's put it, as bittersweet as the local sense of humour 😅

At 5.6% it's the perfect companion for a cold evening. Come in out of the chill, settle into one of our cosy nooks, and let Rock & Pillar warm you from the inside out 🍺
