It’s time for another Meet the Team! This week we’re introducing our beautiful Iai (Pronounced Yah-ee)
If you’ve been visiting us for a while, you may have already met Iai! She’s our longest-serving team member, having been with us for 7+ years
Iai is one of our senior team members alongside Anna and Anise. She can confidently lead a team of 8 through a busy day without breaking a sweat. Calm, organised, and always one step ahead.
When she’s not at the café, you’ll never find her sitting still. She loves keeping busy, ticking off jobs, and spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephew. ❤️
Fun facts about Iai:
🍋 She’s allergic to lemons.
👶 She’s the youngest of six siblings.
🤭 And her brother is married to her boss….!
Iai is one of those people who makes everyone feel welcome. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine care for both our team and our guests are a huge part of what makes Coffee Culture The Crossing so special. ❤️

We know all your names... but we realised half the time you don’t know ours! 😂
So we’re kicking off a little staff introduction series, starting with our very own Anise. 💛
Anise has been with us for just over 3 years and is our Assistant Manager (despite also being the youngest on the team 👶)
On her days off you’ll find her baking, reading, or napping. Her go-to order here is a vanilla iced latte and our pumpkin savoury loaf with chutney. A true coeliac queen. 👑
She’s an absolute weapon on the coffee machine, her latte art is unreal and she is so loved by our guests.
Anise deals with more than her fair share of health challenges, but she always shows up with a smile, keeps pushing through, and is genuinely one of the toughest little battlers we know. We’re very lucky to have her on our team.
There have been plenty of funny Anise moments over the years, but our favourite has to be when she accidentally said, “Bye, love you!” to a guest. 🤣
To be fair... it was Brian. And she actually does love Brian

Our lovely Sue was telling Iai about how she used to eat Chop Suey years ago with a Samoan friend and hadn’t had it in forever. So on Iai’s day off, she made Chop Suey, and brought it in for Sue when she knew she would be here for her morning coffee. She also bought in some Samoan banana pancake (panikeke)
It made Sue’s day. And for Iai, being able to share her culture and make someone feel special made her just as happy.
Just one of those beautiful moments that reminds us how lucky we are to have such caring people on our team and we’re just as grateful for wonderful guests like Sue, who take the time to chat, share stories, and make our days brighter too. It’s these connections that make this place so special. Feeling extra grateful today! ❤️
