Last night, the Bakels New Zealand Supreme Pie Awards took place, and we are thrilled to share that our very own Basil Paul won a silver award in the Café boutique section.

Basil’s delicious pie was a "Moroccan style slow-braised lamb shoulder simmered in a fragrant Ras el hanout spice blend with cinnamon, ginger, cumin, preserved lemon, apricot. Buttery filo spiced with dukkha and toasted almonds."

There were 4,600 pies entered this year for judging, so a huge congratulations to Basil for his high achievement!

We were honoured to cater for a special dinner hosted by Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust and RCP, with Kiwi racing legend Greg Murphy, bringing together supporters and guests of LFBIT for an inspiring night of stories and connection.

A huge thank you to Bidfood Christchurch for their contribution towards food costs.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we're thrilled to share that the event raised over $19,000 for LFBIT.

A huge thank you to the Christchurch Airport Community Fund for awarding us a grant to purchase a new mixer.

This investment will enable our team to create even more delicious menu items for our customers, while also improving our efficiency in the kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed attending the fund event this week, connecting with fellow recipients, and learning more about the incredible work being done across our local community.
