Switching over to our autumn hours as we head in to the end of daylight savings. We are likely open Good Friday but closed Easter Monday if the weather forecast doesn't change! We will update here, but also check google (just search for gelato lab) and it will show you our hours on the day!

A few FAQs!

Q: Do you have non-dairy/vegan options?
A: Yes! We have a range of sorbets that are made without dairy (and are otherwise vegan also). Legally we have to say our sorbets "may contain traces" of dairy (as we have dairy on the premises), but we make every effort to avoid cross contamination .

Q: Do you cater for other dietary requirements?
A: Yes! Just ask in store and we can advise which products are suitable for your needs. We try to have something available for everyone!

Q: What are your opening hours?
A: Our hours vary with season, but we keep them updated on google (maps) so that's the best place to get info. Be sure to refresh your web search to get current info (or it might just load cached info from your last search), and don't use an AI summary (often out of date)

Q: Do you sell vouchers?
A: Yes! We have vouchers for 2 scoop cups/cones. These can be purchased in store (they are physical vouchers, not electronic sorry!)

Q: Do you have a menu available?
A: We have around 50 flavours and about 24 spots in our display cabinets, so we swap flavours in and out during the day. Its super hard to keep the menu updated in the shop, let alone online so we don't publish a daily menu as it changes often (especially on busy days!). With 24 flavours on display, there is sure to be something you like!

Q: How can I get my favourite flavour?
A: If you haven't seen your favourite flavour for a while, drop us a line on FB to order a 500ml or 1L take home tub (note: it can take 2-7 days for it to be ready if we don't already have it on hand!). We can even do 5 litre trays if needed :)

Did you know we have a spot selling our gelato in the city centre too? Charing Cross Cheesery in Riverside Market have 9 of our flavours out every day (including pistachio!!). We only realised when we posted about our other new outlet in Hornby that a lot of you aren't aware that you can get our gelato goodness in town from our great friends at Charing Cross! Exciting news for people in the west of Christchurch! Pop on over to the Cheeky Sparrow cafe in The Hub in Hornby to get your fix - they have fig, amarena, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, peach and passionfruit sorbet, strawberry sorbet, and bacio (will be swapped for pistachio when we get our pistachio butter available again)!
