On Friday we catered a “hoe down” themed dinner for our friends Ninety Nine Reasons Events so of course we took the opportunity to ensure we dressed accordingly 🤠

✨ Another special wish to be part of✨

We were incredibly honoured to once again be aligned with Make-A-Wish New Zealand, this time helping bring a little piece of magic to Soha’s special wish.

Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses, and being able to play even a small part in something with such meaning is a real privilege.

For us at Signature Catering, food has always been about more than what’s on the plate and this was one of those moments.
A huge thank you to Make-A-Wish for allowing us to be part of Soha’s journey and also for Morgan for linking arms with us to bring this wish to life.

A moment for the oyster bar!!

We love Clevedon Coast Oysters & can’t recommend them highly enough. Their service but of course their oysters make them always our chosen supplier.

If you decide on an oyster bar at your next event, included are the oysters, the cart, the shells, our signature dipping sauce… and if you’re a fan of the frozen roses for added effect we can throw them in aswell 😉

One thing is certain, everyone always remembers the oyster bar.

Hi, Shay here 👋

I’m often the one who is behind the posts, the quotes, the inbox & all things admin but this weekend I had the privilege to work alongside these magic makers catering a corporate event in Franklin.

In between trying to be of help not a hindrance in the kitchen, I can’t help but share some of my observations of the masterminds behind the delicious food you get to either enjoy yourselves or admire via social media.

✨ Ange, Karl & Jo make a great team. Small, yet so powerful & they work so well together.

✨ Lots of laughter.

✨ Hospitality is a very selfless profession which can also be at times thankless.

✨ There is so much time that goes into prep, which I don’t think is truly appreciated by all (which has given me great ideas for a future post).

✨ 16 hours on my feet, I am not used to this - you’ll find me back behind my computer screen tomorrow… probably with my feet up 😂

✨ Everyone should do a stint in hospo at some point in their life, I think it would make everyone kinder to each other.

✨ The pack down - my uncle Karl is a legend. Never a moan even when he’s out numbered by women.

✨ There is so much to learn!

✨ People who say thank you at the end of the night really do give such a warmth & appreciation to all the staff.

✨ The girls who show up event after event, with a smile, looking proud to be part of the Signature Catering team are so valued.

✨ My aunty Ange is very generous, in her creativity, her time, her food!!

Lastly, I guess the point of my words tonight is to just spread a little bit of aroha to my Aunty Ange & Uncle Karl. You both work so hard to provide the most beautiful, filled with love food for others - I hope you know how much it really is appreciated by those who get to experience what it is to be a customer of Signature Catering & also a staff member who gets to enjoy the ride alongside you.

3 days catering consisting of morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea finished off with an evening family style sharing dinner.

This is our 2nd year we have had the privilege to cater for Woolworths and it is never taken for granted when you’re chosen on multiple occasions.

We love working with you Ninety Nine Reasons Events and it’s so great when we understand each other’s vision of how we can execute events that leave both of our businesses and brands being spoken about well after.

This week is another big one for us, as we kick off tomorrow with a funeral catering for 200 and then Saturday sees us locally for a business celebrating their 5th birthday with 350 people.

Last night we swapped fish and chips for a classic Mid-Winter Christmas feast at Karaka Lifestyle Village! 🎄❄️

Just a few weeks ago we were serving up everyone’s favourite fish and chip night, and it was such a pleasure to be back creating another special evening for the wonderful residents.

This time the menu was all about comfort, flavour and a little festive magic:
🎄 Honey mustard glazed champagne ham
🎄 Cream cheese and cranberry stuffed chicken thighs wrapped in bacon with cranberry sauce
🎄 Creamy potato gratin
🎄 Maple butter and rosemary roasted pumpkin & kūmara
🎄 Buttered seasonal greens
🎄 Festive red cabbage
🎄 Apple & cranberry slaw
🎄 Fresh bread rolls with whipped butter
And because no Christmas feast is complete without dessert...
✨ Warm sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce
✨ Winter berry & apple crumble with vanilla custard
✨ Mini pavlovas

One of the greatest privileges of what we do is being invited into people's homes to help celebrate some of life's most special moments.

Last weekend, we had the honour of catering a very special gathering celebrating an 84th birthday. But it was about so much more than a birthday. It was also a celebration of being in remission after 12 months of incredibly tough cancer treatment.

As we chatted while setting up the table, you couldn't not to notice the beautiful love shared between this couple. It really was a powerful reminder of what truly matters.

Moments like these remind us that catering is about so much more than food. It's about helping create the space for memories to be made, stories to be shared, and milestones to be celebrated.

Here's to good health, enduring love, and celebrating every milestone worth raising a glass to. Thank you for choosing us Graham and Barbara❤️
