🌱 Behind the Beans: Roasting with Indi

One of our customers — now a good friend — Muamel, saw me hand-sorting a small batch of roasted beans and asked what I was doing. So… we hit record 😬

I was sorting out Quakers: unripe or underdeveloped beans that stay pale and don’t brown during roasting. On their own they taste a bit nutty, but if too many slip into a batch, they water down the overall flavour profile.

Climate changes and fertilizer challenges means Quakers are becoming more common — so a solid quality-control processim is more important than ever for keeping our flavour consistent.

We roast and sort each origin separately, then blend them together to create our Independence Blend.
