After 38 incredible years, Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill will close its doors following its final service on Saturday 13 June 2026.
Since opening in 1988, Harbourside has been a special part of Auckland’s dining landscape. From long lunches overlooking the harbour to memorable events and celebrations with family and friends, it has been a venue that has meant a great deal to so many people.
Since acquiring the restaurant in 2013, Good Group Hospitality has been proud to carry this legacy forward — investing in the space, the team, and the experience, while maintaining the character and history of the iconic Ferry Building location.
Sadly, the hospitality environment has changed significantly since Covid, and like many businesses in the sector, lower sales and ever-increasing costs mean operating the restaurant is no longer commercially viable so the difficult decision has been made not to renew the lease and close the business. The lease on our sister restaurant Botswana Butchery Auckland on the ground floor below in the Ferry Building has however been renewed.
The decision does not affect any other Good Group Hospitality outlets in Auckland and Queenstown.
Our focus now is on finishing on a high — celebrating Harbourside’s final weeks with our team, our guests, and everyone who has been part of its journey over the past 38 years.
We would like to sincerely thank our staff, past and present, our suppliers, and our loyal customers for your support over the years.
The final service at Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill will be Saturday 13 June 2026.
