Seafood has always been part of the Sails story.
It makes sense here. The harbour is just outside, the room looks out across Westhaven, and the menu has always had a deep respect for what comes from the sea.

Oysters, crayfish, snapper, seasonal fish, and the dishes guests come back for.

Prepared with care, served without fuss, and enjoyed with the view.

A proud moment for Sails. 🖤
We are honoured to have been recognised as a MICHELIN Selected restaurant in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide New Zealand.

This recognition reflects what Sails has always been about. Genuine hospitality, exceptional food, and creating memorable experiences for every guest who dines with us.

It is a testament to the vision and dedication of our owner, Valerie Littlejohn, the leadership and talent of Executive Chef Jason Blackie, and every member of the Sails team whose passion, care and commitment make each service possible.

We would also like to thank our local producers and suppliers for the outstanding ingredients they provide, and most importantly, our guests. Whether you’ve joined us for a special celebration or simply a nice dinner overlooking the Waitematā Harbour, thank you for being part of our journey.

To be recognised among just 60 MICHELIN Selected restaurants across New Zealand is an incredible honour, and one we are deeply grateful for.

Snapper ceviche has long been a Sails staple. ✨

The garnish may change from time to time, but the heart of the dish stays the same: fresh snapper, clean flavour, and the kind of brightness that makes it a beautiful way to start your course.

A simple dish on paper, but one that depends on freshness, balance, and the careful preparation we are known for at Sails.
