As always at The Blind Tiger we try to bring the latest films and the best variety on Lakeside. Tomorrow night at 8 (Mon 23rd) we bring you the latest in arguably the most important documentary series ever made! 56 years ago director Michael Apted interviewed two groups of 7 year olds from very different backgrounds about their hopes and dreams for the future, every seven years since then he has returned to interview the same children as they become teenagers and on into adulthood, in this latest instalment they have reached 63, it is a fascinating journey watching their lives turn, unpredictable and beautiful it makes for compelling viewing. Following on from one of this years best at 6 Green Book. We look forward to seeing you again!

On Sat 21st at 8 for the first time the Blind Tiger plays the new film Judy, starring Renee Zellweger this is a moving and startling portrayal of Judy Garland set in England in her later years. Renee Zellweger totally captures the spirit of this idiosyncratic and much loved performer, following the great new film The Peanut Butter Falcon at six.

A truly bumper week this week from the Blind Tiger, as we are getting close to the festive season and the end of the year we are taking the opportunity to play a cross section of the biggest new releases, best titles from the last year and one or two great Australian titles that you may not have heard of. On Saturday we have the breath taking new biopic Judy, based on the life of Judy Garland, starring Renee Zellwegger in what will be a career defining role for her. On Mon 23rd we have a special presentation of the new Michael Apted film 63up, more of a social experiment than a film this astonishing series of films has its Genesis 56 years ago when Apted interviewed seven year olds from very different economic backgrounds about their hopes and fears for the future, he has then returned every seven years to once again interview the same children, through childhood into adulthood, middle age and now into their early 60's, it continues to be compelling viewing. Some terrific films this week from Australia this week including the multi award winning Rabbit Proof Fence and The Tracker but also a Blind Tiger favourite for the first time in Nepal, Bad Boy Bubby. If you are a film buff you need to see this movie, to tell you anything about it would spoil it!!! To start the week on Monday we have a great new documentary Game of Thrones-The last Watch, on the making of this popular series. We also have brand new Rick and Morty for you on Wednesday. All the movies are FREE with dinner or a drink and of course on Tues 24th The Blind Tiger goes into Orphans Xmas party mode for anyone in Pokhara who is away from home and family, we hope you can join us for a drink and some old school tunes to dance the night away, with hot rum punch around a hot fire.

Tomorrow night (Sat 14) at 8 we present the much talked about new Stephen King film Dr Sleep. A sequel to perhaps the best adaptation of a Stephen King story The Shining, the little boy Dan from the first film has all grown up! Following on from the terrific Nick Cave, Australian film the proposition at 8!! We have warm blankets and all of our seating is covered in case this rain continues.

BLIND TIGER ORPHANS XMAS EVE PARTY! TUES 24th DEC. 6-late
Christmas is upon us once again and the Blind Tiger invites any wandering souls out there to join us for our annual Celebration. We will be playing everyones favourite Xmas movie Love Actually at 6pm followed at by DJ EskimoChain from Australia following on from that we have been lucky enough to once again secure the services of DJ Nicetoknow from Germany, who played such a great set last year!!! So everyone is invited! We have food until the end of the movie, a big fire to keeps us all warm, happy hour priced Hot Rum Punch, mad tunes and Graphics to keep us going until the early hours. We hope you can join us for our Xmas party!!

On Wed 12th at 6 for the first time on lakeside and probably the first time in Nepal, Australian classic Chopper! Starring Eric Bana in his first big screen role and based on the crimes and misdeeds of one of Australia's most infamous criminals Mark 'Chopper' Read. Chopper is brilliant, at times hilarious and at times disturbing. Chopper is just about 'a normal bloke, a normal bloke who likes a bit of torture'. Played with English subtitles and followed by Blade Runner at 8!!

It's been really great to be getting in so many movie buffs in the last couple of weeks! Keeping the variety and new films coming this week at The Blind Tiger, including the Brand new sequel to the Shining, Dr Sleep and the new Sci-Fi with Brad Pitt Ad Astra, also in the next couple of weeks we are going to take the chance to play some classic Australian films that some of you may not have seen, starting this week with the savage and hilarious Chopper, Strictly Ballroom and Nick Caves epic The Proposition. It has certainly got a little more chilly in the last weeks but we have blankets, a warm fire and even better Hot Rum Punch!! Starting the week off with the excellent new Tarantino movie Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Best of all of course, all of the movies are FREE with dinner or a drink, the bar is open from midday and we look forward to seeing you again!!

Variety is the name of the game at The Blind Tiger, we try and bring you as much new quality entertainment as we can and this week is no exception! Including the new film Hustlers on Saturday starring Jennifer Lopez and a great new Sci Fi called Freaks on Friday, we also have the new Downton Abbey movie for all of you fans of the award winning TV series and the always brilliant new season of Rick and Morty on Thursday. Monday kicks off with the brilliant combination of the NZ film Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Fight Club. It has got a little colder this last week so we will be having a fire to keep people warm. The movies are all FREE with dinner or a drink, the restaurant and bar are open from midday and we look forward to seeing you again this week!!!
