Tøyen Startup Village Tøyen Startup Village is changing. A new website is in the making, with a map of all co-working spaces and startup communities in Gamle Oslo.

The workbar is now called Tøyen & Bar. It will still function as the reception for TSV! Tøyen Startup Village er i endring, og ny nettside er under utvikling. Vi vil fortsatt promotere oppstartsmiljøet i bydel Gamle Oslo, og alle arbeidsfellesskaper i området. Vi tilbyr ikke lenger kontorplasser til oppstartsbedrifter, så for å ikke villede dere har vi valgt å endre navn og visuell profil på det s

om tidligere var Tøyen Startup Village sin workbar på Tøyen Torg. Baren har endret navn til Tøyen & Bar, men vil fortsatt fungere som resepsjon for TSV og bedriftene på Tøyen Torg. Ellers er det meste som før, og du kan fortsatt kjøpe digg kaffe og bakst, komme på konserter, åpen scene, jobbe, studere, beundre kunst på veggene, handle lokalt produsert håndverk på pop-ups og mye mer! Du kan leie baren til private fester, og hvis du har en kul idé til et event er det bare å sende oss en e-post :)

"What a ride it's been! We first opened our doors as Tøyen Startup Village back in April 2018. It has been a long lasting temporary project.
A project that was supposed to last for only 3 years instead it has lasted for 8 year from when the first co-working hub opened in 2015.
Unfortunately our last day will be the 22th December.

We have been through a couple of different incarnations after starting out as an independent coffee shop with championship winning baristas combined with being a coworking/startup hub open for all. As a coworking hub we brought innovation, energy and synergy to the multicultural neighbourhood of Tøyen, fomenting collaboration activity and local jobs. And now there are several other co-working places around in the borough. We are proud therefore to say that the project worked.

As a bar and a meeting place during this period we hosted so many wonderful events, parties, pop-ups, concerts, book launches, art exhibitions and initiatives. Thank you to Entra for hosting us for 7 years doing this. Most recently we have been located at the reception of .norge in their fantastic new headquarters. Testing out a new form. But for now, we will be putting a temporary pause to our activities after xmas 2023. Who knows, we might regroup again, but we wish Oda the best of luck together with their new partners

Ny kunstutstilling!
9.september har .svensson.am åpning av sin utstilling: I touch my Self. kl 14:00.

I touch my Self is a collection of works that explores the concept of constructing belonging and the self, which is done through the use of “the suited man”. A trope meant to represent contemporary social structures. By adopting a lighthearted and naivistic approach, everyday observations are woven together with the daydreamy and satirical, producing textile works featuring humans in varying states and circumstances. While being greatly inspired by the imagery and storytelling of the artist Luigi Serafini and Gary Larson, Linn sees the use of textile material and techniques in her work as an integral part of its meaning. Alluding to the cultural significance of storytelling through the textile craft, she leaves it open to the viewer how this is meant to impact the interpretation of the works.
The exhibition features both new textile works and older drawings.

Linn Svensson (b. 1991) is an Oslo based artist whose works are mainly executed using textile techniques, such as embroidery and quilt. She has a Bachelor’s degree of medium and material-based art from Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where she is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the same department.
