I had to change opening hours after seeing it is code red. For the first time ever. And just the hottest day from this heatwave.

I am constantly checking the forecast and the advice from the government about safety these days.
Unfortunately we aren't really prepared as a country to handle this heat. So it feels weird to invite you to come Friday for a cake, when I don't even know how hot it is inside kluts or at our terrace when it's 40C out there.
It feels strange to ask my staff to stand for several hours behind a coffee machine during a record temperature day, when I don't have airco yet inside and don't even know how that feels, if it's manageable. I already worked in our kitchen at 36C, there we do have portable AC. But 40C? After several hot days? Not so sure anymore.
Hopefully this heatwave makes people more motivated to go plant-based, go vegan. To vote for the parties that actually will do something about it. To take action however they can.
and whenever you need a bake that doesn't melt the planet, you know where to find us (just not this Friday ;)
