New expo opening this saturday! 🖼️🕺🏽

Sumaita likes to call herself Earthist. She paints landscapes not as places, but as feelings. Drawn to the silence of high and low landforms, the work explores those rare moments where awe, fear, freedom, and belongingness exist together. Emotions during exploring the mountains that felt difficult to name and describe, Earthist makes an attempt to illustrate those. Through sketches and paintings, each piece becomes a trace of wandering and a memory of how it felt to be at that very moment.

The exposition ‘Wild contours’ is born from the walks and cycling through landscapes in Europe and South-East Asia. It is a collection of paintings and illustrations inspired by travels through the mountains. Each artwork explores the surreal beauty of rugged valleys, shifting light, and the quiet emotions that only wild places seem to awaken.

🇳🇱 Zin in bangers? Café Averechts serveert ze je! Op zaterdag 15 augustus draaien de Averechts huis-dj's non-stop bangers van 21.00 tot 02.00 uur. Verwacht funk, soul, hiphop, r&b, garage, cumbia en nog veel meer BANGERS. Toegang is zoals altijd gratis. Café Averechts wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers en alle winst gaat naar het goede doel.

🇬🇧 Are you hungry for bangers? Café Averechts has a feast for you! On Saturday 15th August the Averechts house DJs will be serving wall-to-wall bangers from 21.00 - 02.00. Expect funk, soul, hip-hop, r&b, garage, cumbia and many more BANGERS. Entry is free as always. Café Averechts is completely volunteer-run and all profit goes to charity.

Zondag 26 juli wordt er weer Bluegrass & Old Time gespeeld in Café Averechts. Van 14-17u.

Bluegrass is een muziekstroming binnen de country. Er wordt traditiegetrouw gebruik gemaakt van akoestische instrumenten zoals de banjo, mandoline, viool, gitaar en contrabas.

Neem je instrument mee en speel mee!

(Let op: Dit betreft geen optreden op het podium. We gaan met een groepje aan tafel zitten jammen.)

Wij doen morgen (zondag 28 juni) mee aan Gluren bij de Buren!

Om 14.30, 16.00 en 17.30 treedt Floating Flame bij ons op.

Floating Flame creëert een wereld van warme klanken en rijke kleuren, waarin soul, funk en jazz samenkomen tot een meeslepende beleving. Stel je voor: een ruimte vol mensen, in verbinding met elkaar en de muziek. Er wordt gedanst. Alles draait om dynamisch samenspel, en even valt de drukte en koelte van het leven weg.

🇬🇧 Next quiz Saturday (27 June) – the last one before the summer holidays! Doors open at 20.00, quiz starts around 20.30. €2,- per person, max team size is 6 people. All proceeds go to charity. No need to pre-register, just show up!

🇳🇱 Volgende quiz zaterdag (27 juni) – de laatste voor de zomervakantie! Deuren open om 20.00 uur, quiz begint rond 20.30 uur. €2,- per persoon, maximale teamgrootte is 6 personen. Alle opbrengsten gaan naar een goed doel. Vooraf inschrijven is niet nodig, kom gewoon langs!

☀️ Favourites of the Year Vegan Menu☀️

This Sunday, we’re celebrating the beginning of summer with the favourites of the year meals as a colourful three-course menu full of warm, fresh and comforting flavours.

🍑 Starter
We’ll begin with a sun-kissed grilled peach salad: sweet, smoky and refreshing.

🌿 Main
For the main course, we’re serving Ful wa Roz — slow-simmered fava beans accompanied by fragrant rice.

🍊 Dessert
We’ll finish with a homemade walnut and orange cake: nutty, citrusy and perfect for a sunny evening.
