Step into Zelfspraak, a spoken word programme by Diversity Academy — where young voices turn language into a vessel for identity, reflection and social change.

Across more than seven sessions from October to November, this Dutch-language programme explores themes including feminism, anti-racism, sexual freedom, q***r emancipation, gender diversity and activism. Through spoken word, participants translate personal stories into performances that challenge norms and spark dialogue.

The sessions are guided by experienced spoken word artists and socially engaged makers, offering personal feedback, writing support and performance coaching in a supportive and safe space. Through creative exercises, spoken word techniques and performance practice, participants develop their own texts and work towards performing them in front of an audience.

Participation costs €125, but Diversity Academy offers support for those who cannot afford the fee.

Find out more about the programme and how to join via the link in our bio.

*All sessions are in Dutch and Dutch proficiency is required to participate

We are very excited to host Bottled Up, an immersive installation created by ( & ) during their House Guests residency at The Grey Space.

Bottled Up delves into the entangled relationship between plastic and water, pulling back the curtain on how these everyday elements move through global systems of capitalism, consumerism, and overconsumption. Centered on an unexpected messenger—a plastic water bottle that comes alive by speaking, singing, and moving—this multi-screen interactive audiovisual experience blends ritual, humor, and visual excess to spark reflection on synthetic existence and disposability.

Join us on Saturday, 5 September to explore the work and connect with the artists during their public presentation!

During their House Guest residency, Anne Fehres and Luke Conroy [Nullshima Studio] are developing and prototyping Bottled Up, a multi-screen interactive audiovisual installation.

Bottled Up invites you to confront your own complicity in a culture of overconsumption and disposability.
Over the course of their residency at The Grey Space, Anne and Luke will be experimenting with the installation’s spatial, sonic, choreographic, and interactive dimensions ahead of its public presentation.

Join us, for free, on September 5, from 19:00–22:00, for the public presentation, followed by an after talk.

Curious about our House Guests? Check out our website for more information, and keep an eye on our socials for updates.

We're still thinking about Watching Machines, Life Under Algorithmic Eyes that took place last month 🧠💡

The event took a sharp, critical look at how algorithms subtly shape our choices, sort our data, and monitor our daily lives. Seeing these complex digital structures tackled through creative inquiry made for an unforgettable evening of reflection.

Looking back on an unforgettable night with CC Sounds by NOIR. ✨

Last month, our basement came alive with genre-blurring sets, new connections, and a dancefloor that felt as much about community as it did about music. Thank you to NOIR, the artists, and everyone who showed up and made the night what it was.

Until the next one. 🖤
