Here it is, after a long and creative process, we wanted to bring all the memories together in one place; a coffee table book. The kind of book one person reads from cover to cover, while another casually flips through. But above all, it’s a book we are really proud of.

This book is for everyone. Whether you’re getting to know us for the first time or revisiting shared memories with us, we hope these pages make you feel part of the journey.

It’s a book that contains a lot of effort, work, and time. One we could never have created without your support.
Seriously, without you buying and drinking our coffee, we wouldn’t have made it through the last ten years. So thank you!

A Celebration of 10 Years of Roast Factory

Roast Factory was born from a passion for specialty coffee and a simple question: What’s the real story behind a cup of coffee? Ten years ago, there was little focus on transparency, fair pricing, or the journey from farm to cup. That curiosity became our philosophy: coffee has a story, and every step deserves care and respect.

Over the past ten years, we’ve collected more memories, photographs, stories, and experiences than we can keep track of. We’ve roasted countless coffees, met incredible people, and travelled to remarkable places. The growth we’ve experienced and the relationships we’ve built have created a collection of memories too meaningful to leave hidden away in an archive.

So we came up with something, something we’d love to share with you this Saturday.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’ll be serving free coffee all day and hosting drinks from 3:00 PM onwards (till 6:00 PM). We would never have reached this milestone without you, and we’d love for you to join us in celebrating.

Our terrace is getting some updates with new benches and plants. Sunny weather is on its way, so it’s time to sit outside with a good iced batch brew or our new cascara soda (or tonic).

Experience every step of the process, that’s what Steef did in Costa Rica. Not just shaking hands, but helping at the farm, understanding the hard work, the process. Seeing where our Don Alexis is coming from, and yes, this means we fly to coffee farmers, which is not very sustainable. But we think that it’s important to have personal contact with our farmers. To see what they do, understand them, and to see what the plantation looks like. And when you get a reaction like this on top of that, it becomes even clearer why we do what we do.

Soon, we will share more about Costa Rica and the coffee we got from Don.

This is Anne, our newest addition to the Roast Factory team. You may have seen her around before. In 2024, she travelled to Colombia with Steef and Lau to do research for her thesis. Since then, she has been helping us out on weekends and is now permanently shining behind the coffee machine. Anne will also be giving barista and latte art courses. With her enthusiasm and spontaneity, she is an unmistakable part of our team!

Juicy black plum, red wine, and a silky, honey-like sweetness, all thanks to a four day anaerobic fermentation followed by a slow sun-dry.

Grown by the Ramirez-Navarro family in Los Santos. A family run farm where attention to detail and careful processing truly shine in the coffee.
