De Bok & Facebook.. we gave in ... this is the OFFICIAL Facebookpage of De Bok (after several people made an unofficial fan-page about us) .... but don't worry, we will continue cooking in a pan, read the news from paper papers and only take your reservations on the old fixed telephone ....

... in April we told you about the beautiful photo report of de Bok a dear friend had made for us and promised to post a few of those regularly on this page ... knowing that ofcourse things would change in the interior we herewith show some items that are gone, but believe us it is still nice to go and check what is still there and hasn't changed ... and if we know you're coming you might find us as well ...

... another very regular activity is restocking the various mini-libraries, not only in our neighborhood, but nowadays you can also find our books in Voorburg ... still never a dull moment 😉

... and speaking of destinations ... some of you might still remember this very old abacus that was originally invented (in 1936!) to teach children arithmetic, but which once hung on our wall as decoration ... Gert decided to donate it to his old primary school in Voorburg (then Ireneschool, nowadays De Driemaster on Spinozalaan), the place where he took his first arithmetic lessons ... thank you https://www.facebook.com/pages/Basisschool-De-Driemaster/120317028050215 for the lovely reception ...

To celebrate De Bok's 20th anniversary, we decided to organize four evenings full of events to raise money for one of our favorite charities: UNICEF... on the last Jazzy night, we handed over the money to a representative of the organization, but somehow we never returned the banner... after our hibernation, we started carefully sorting out all kinds of items that had been stored in the cellar for years ... and the banner popped up ... so we returned it to the Bezuidenhoutseweg ... good to give things their destanation again ...

... when asked if we were going to hold a farewell party, we replied that we were going to turn our last working six months into one big farewell, giving everyone the chance to drop by as often as possible ... making time for everybody seemed nicer to us than just shaking hands for one evening ... but among all the memories from 47 years, we also found video footage on YouTube showing a number of party nights at De Bok ... enjoy these memories from the old days 😀🥳😉 ... and thank you Lex

... speaking of photography ... the last week that we were still in full swing, a dear friend came by to shoot a beautiful photo report of De Bok, with a loving eye for the many details ... what a valuable and special souvenir she made for us ♥♥ ... we'll therefore be happy to post a few of those regularly on this page, starting with the pics where we are still hard at work ... only a few months ago, but it already feels like a long time 😉...
