The renovations and the work that has gone into making our building future-proof has resulted in us now officially having an A++ energy label. For a monumental building from 1929, this is quite an achievement and we are very happy with it. Our solar panels, heat pump for heating, electric boiler for hot water and improved insulation all contribute to this. Bring on the future, we are ready for it!

Recently we welcomed Around010 Events to our building as one of the latest additions to our community. It is a unique Rotterdam corporate events agency and international DMC (Destinated Management Company). Great to see what Around010 has made of their office space!

September 21 & 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m a group of the artists in our building participate in Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend (GRAW). Visitors will be able to explore our historic building and the unique ateliers and work of these artists. Also the restaurant in our building, POSSE@STEUR, will be open during GRAW24. Plenty of reasons to drop by our building this weekend! Participating artists:

One of the new additions to our Home of the Unlikely community is Eaux Posse. It brings the gastronomy of France, Côtes Catalanes and Northern Spain to Rotterdam as restaurant POSSE@STEUR in our building. Welcome Eaux Posse!

We are proud to announce that Paul Posse and Jeroen Bijl are coming to our building to start a restaurant in our suited spaces such as our bar and terrace and do what they do best: create unforgettable experiences. Paul Posse is the man behind restaurant Eaux Posse, which till recently was located at Schiemond, and has a lot of experience in the Rotterdam catering industry. Before Eaux Posse he had a coffee and lunch place in the old Fenix ​​warehouses as well as a restaurant on the Brede Hilledijk. This new adventure in our monumental building is called POSSE@STEUR.

It is great to see that Paul and Jeroen have started the necessary work to make our catering space completely their own and to realize the restaurant. Of course, a lot still needs to be done, but we are already very much looking forward to seeing the result and seeing POSSE@STEUR welcome the first guests. Work in progress, coming soon…

Johannes Langkamp, who is part of our Home of the Unlikely, exhibits ingenious new work called 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 on the special art tour 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 (𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿) 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝗷𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 by Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. The fact that Johannes is exhibiting here makes our hearts beat faster, and that the tour takes you through the monumental parts of the museum building 'Van der Steurgebouw' excites us too of course!

As the name of the building refers to the architect Ad van der Steur, who also designed our former power plant and who inspires us at STEUR every day. We are very much looking forward to viewing the art on the tour and being guided through the monumental parts of the building during 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝗷𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀, which is possible from June 1st to July 7th.

Perron 14 celebrated the company's fourteenth anniversary Yesterday. And what better place to do that than close to their office in our bar and garden! Music, drinks and snacks, good fun and a great turnout. That's how we like to see it.

The most versatile, visible and characteristic building material of historic buildings is brick and so it is for our building. We freshened up the brick facade of our building recently and in combination with the renovation of our monumental window frames, which were tackled in the previous phase, we can only say that we are very happy with the result!

Earlier this week Ministerie van Online held an evening meeting in our Expo room with the team of freelancers they work with. Dylan Donia and Dyon Cools talked about the history and origins of the company and its future. Laurens Van Wesep concluded with an AI workshop, all while using our convenient LED screen. Great to see that companies from our community find their way to the presentation room. Keep going strong Ministerie van Online!

Last night, our Unlikely tenant Odd.Bot was featured in an item about robots and AI in Nieuwsuur. Operational Director Hein Buisman talks about the development of their w**d removal robot in an interesting piece about the impact that robots and AI can make on society. Great to see that Odd.Bot gets this well deserved platform at Nieuwsuur!

Now that we no longer use gas and work with climate control, we use more electricity. That is why innovative solar panels have been installed as part of our sustainability project. Flexible, lightweight panels that are an ideal addition to the renovation of our monumental building.

In combination with climate control, we have certainly not shied away from the challenges of making our monumental building more sustainable and the results are impressive. In this way we contribute to a better environment and the preservation and future-proofing of historic buildings. We hope to be an inspiration to others who are considering similar upgrades!
