“Today, September 24, the property has been transferred, and we are now not only users but also owners of our beloved Grote Broek! We can continue to be a place that offers space for marginalized people. We can keep organizing low-cost shows on the fringes of society. We can keep cooking and eating together because we want to cook together, for one and another, not for profit. We can keep making art. We can keep providing space for activist groups, informational evenings, radical literature, aid organizations, and so on.

Because the Broek remains, and we remain the Broek!

As an anti-authoritarian movement, we unfortunately don’t always have much to celebrate. That’s why it’s all the more important that we celebrate our victories. By purchasing the Grote Broek, we’ve secured an activist and cultural sanctuary for the future.”

Legal Support-group Workshop
Prepare For Arrest & Interrogation Training

When: Tuesday 8.9. 17:00 a clock
Where: de Klinker: Van Broeckhuysenstraat 46 Nijmegen

Prepare for arrest is a workshop to help people prepare in case they get arrested during a political action or demonstration. It will be an interactive workshop for everyone - with or without
experience of being arrested.

Any action or demonstration carries the risk of arrest. In this workshop we want to provide tools and experiences in how to prepare for this. We’ll spend time recognizing different police units, talk about your rights, explain practicalities and most importantly: we’ll do an interrogation training. That way, you can practice what will happen during interrogation.

It can make a huge difference in your experience and the consequences you might face afterwards (legally, physically and psychologically), if you know what to expect when you get arrested. If you are interested in any form of direct action, that will also attract cops, you will greatly benefit from showing up to this workshop.

De Arrestantengroep is a group of people focused on preparation & assist during and after actions to empower people as much as we can. To help those in the movement be as resilient as possible in the face if state repression.

DUTCH FOLLOWS ENGLISH
The 161st meeting of the linux group will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The meeting is open for everyone to join.

Program:

20:00 - Verifiable Credentials [level: all] -

“Your diploma, passport, and vaccination certificate always with you—secure, private, and without intermediaries.” Verifiable Credentials are the basis for this. Open standards and open source software ensure that you remain in control of your digital identity, without being dependent on companies or governments. And it's not science fiction: governments in the Netherlands and Europe, among others, are already working on digital wallets that will use these standards.

During this presentation:
* We will discover how this technology works and what it means for your privacy, dependence, and convenience.
* We will explore this further in a Q&A.
* We will try it out for ourselves with a live demo on our phones!

No technical knowledge required—just curiosity!

21:45 - Lightning Talks (short 15-minute presentations on Linux-related topics)
Talk 1: [to be determined]
22:30 - End

-X-X-X

De honderdeenenzestigste bijeenkomst is op dinsdag 13 januari 2026. De bijeenkomst is voor iedereen vrij toegankelijk.

Gratis toegang.
Programma:

21:45 uur - Lightning Talks (korte 15-minuten presentaties over Linux gerelateerde onderwerpen)
Talk 1: [nog te bepalen]
 22:30 uur - Einde

More details

subMedia  is a digital media collective with members spread across the stolen lands of the so-called Americas.
First established in 1994 as Subversive Media, over the decades we’ve grown from a humble video projection outfit into one of the most prolific producers of anarchist, anti-capitalist and anti-colonial propaganda in the world. During that time we’ve produced hundreds of videos on everything from urban insurrectionary tactics to land-based mutual aid projects

Our films have been screened in squatted social centres, university lecture halls, on the sides of barricades, and in movie theatres around the world. They’ve also been watched by millions for free on the Internet.
subMedia is a proud member of Kolektiva and the Channel Zero Network. This website is a collection and living archive of our videos produced from 2003 onwards.
