Arpel partakes in the field of pictorial art, principally nature photography. Meticulously combining tradition, modernity and most importantly cherishing the spirit of adventure, we, as if a capricious curator and an earnest aesthete, collect and exhibit a rich blend of the finest pieces — The Arpel Collection — that gently leads the curious viewer away from the passage of time. Our pictures, all
submitted to rigorous scrutiny and chosen from numerous candidates, are printed in Japan — our present conclusion after years of research. The paper we use, uncommon in the Netherlands, is highly glossy and has a mirror-like surface. It is the only paper accepted in one of Japan's prestigious nature photography associations. When printing, our pictures are exposed to the stringent standards of quality exacted by the excellent sense of balance and refined taste of Japanese professional nature photographers. Each product is carefully inspected to satisfy the most discerning customers. To mention a few pieces from the collection: “Ulysees”, a mysterious marvel that deftly conceals its true identity; “Heslop” whose profound blue resembles that of lapis lazuli; and “Touit”, an unusual picture that contains the subject of no subject, or rather the whole as an indivisible subject. These sensuous pictures dextrously yet noiselessly sculpt the air of their surroundings. With ingenuity, tenderness, a hint of playfulness and plenty of luck for delicious discoveries, we endeavour to realise an environment in which every thing thoughtfully delights the senses and through which the world can be explored.
