Cucina Sophia

Da un piccolo paesino in provincia di Salerno, due anni fa, sono arrivata in questa città dell’ Olanda, Eindhoven.

Mi presento : sono Giusy Volpicelli, classe 1986, mamma e moglie a tempo pieno. Sono laureata in Arredamento e Architettura degli Interni e da sempre ho una grande passione per la cucina. Amo cucinare e sperimentare ma sono molto legata alle mie origini e tradizioni ed è per questo che utilizzo prettamente prodotti italiani. Sono cresciuta circondata dalle migliori cuoche, nonne e bisnonne e grazie alla loro grande esperienza ho imparato tutti i segreti della cucina semplice e genuina. Ancora oggi mi affido ai loro consigli cercando, in tutti i modi, di mantenere vivo il legame con la tradizione. Con questa nuova avventura spero di arrivare al cuore delle persone, facendomi strada a piccoli morsi e rievocando le emozioni che ognuno di noi conserva nella memoria. Moving from a small village located in the south of Italy, near Salerno, two years ago I arrived in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. Let me introduce myself: I'm Giusy Volpicelli, born in 1986, full-time mother and wife. I have a degree in Furniture and Interior Architecture and I’ve always had a great passion for cooking. I love cooking and experimenting innovative dishes but, at the same time, I'm very close to my roots and traditions, that's why I use purely Italian products. I grew up surrounded by the best cooks: my grandmothers and great grandmothers and thanks to their great experience I learned all the secrets of the simple and authentic Italian cuisine. Still today I rely on their precious advice seeking to always keep alive the link with the Italian tradition. With this new adventure I hope to get to people’s heart making my way bite after bite and recalling the emotions that everyone keeps in their mind.

Wednesday – Friday | 9:30 – 17:00

Just for tomorrow, we’ll be closing at 15:00 due to a private event.

Something new is coming this October ✨

A new selection of main dishes is coming to Cucina Sophia, together with new opening hours.
From October, we’ll be open Wednesday to Friday, 9:30–17:00.

And there’s more… 🥳 From this week, you can also enjoy Italian w**e and Italian b**r at Cucina Sophia! 🇮🇹🍷🍺
We’re still working on our drinks menu, but a few Italian options are already available.

Today I turn 40.

And this year, my little dream, Cucina Sophia, turns 10.

Two important milestones, happening in the same year.
And somehow, it feels impossible not to stop for a moment and look back at everything that has brought me here.

It feels a little strange to celebrate such an important birthday without my family by my side. I was supposed to still be on holiday, but work brought me home a little earlier. And yet, maybe this is exactly what makes today so special.

Because this business has been such a huge part of my life.
It has grown with me, challenged me, changed me, and given me so much more than I could have ever imagined when I started.

I am proud.
Proud of the woman I’ve become, proud of the journey, and incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of it.

And because this year, there was simply no way not to celebrate…
I made myself a special cake. 🎂

A little gift to myself, for 40 years of life and 10 years of a dream that became real.

Happy birthday to me. And happy 10th birthday, Cucina Sophia.🎂✨
