⚪🔴⚪ The wait is over: Ajax are back!

After a long international break, Ajax return to the Johan Cruijff ArenA this Saturday, 10 October (21:00), against NEC. And there's a new face to watch: Yves Bissouma, the Malian midfielder who joined from Tottenham, now has his work permit and could make his official Ajax debut. ✨

Julian Brandt has scored in three league games in a row, Bissouma is ready to go, and coach Míchel has a nice selection puzzle to solve in midfield. We just want goals. Lots of them. ⚽

🏘️ The Frans Halsbuurt has a fresh new look — and it's throwing a party to celebrate.

Today Sunday 4 October (15:00–18:30), the neighbourhood celebrates its makeover and launches a brand-new "Kijk- en Luistertour": 33 panels hung around the streets, each sharing photos and stories from today's residents about the neighbourhood of yesteryear. It's basically a living history book you can stroll through.

And there's more coming: in December a photo book called "Van melkboer tot havermelk" (From milkman to oat milk!) celebrates 150 years of the Frans Halsbuurt. Best book title of the year? We think so. 🥛

Grab your neighbours and go explore your own backyard. 👀

🦋 Fitting fact for a coffeeshop named Papillon: Sarphatipark has its very own butterfly-counting tradition.

Local green initiative Groene Buurten, together with Groen Gemaal, regularly leads free butterfly excursions through the park and the garden of Huis van de Wijk De Pijp — counting wings to track the ecological health of one of the busiest green spots in the city. Led by an expert who knows the difference between every flutter, it's equal parts nature lesson and quiet afternoon wandering.

Proof that even in the middle of the city, De Pijp still has room for a little magic. 🌿

🇬🇷 vs 🇳🇱 It's match day this Thursday!

Oranje head to Thessaloniki to take on Greece in the Nations League. Kick-off is 20:45 at the Toumba Stadium, and the Greek fans will be making plenty of noise.

Our plan: orange shirts on, drinks in hand, eyes on the screen, and cheering loud enough to be heard all the way in Greece. Hup Holland Hup! 🧡
