The last Connection Café was a great success, bringing together 110 people from many different backgrounds. Together, we explored the themes of home and belonging, and reflected on why feeling at home is so important for building a future.
We listened to Rasheed share his deeply personal journey of finding a home from Yemen to the Netherlands, and from the Netherlands back to Yemen. We also heard moving stories from participants about how they found new connections and friendships through the Connection Café, and how they stepped outside their bubbles and crossed social barriers.
At a time when we often feel more polarized than ever, it felt especially warm and meaningful to be together in person, listen to one another, and embrace our differences.
