You can’t ask entrepreneurs to think long term if the environment only allows them to survive one quarter at a time.
That was the thought behind the question I asked at the BusinessDay CEO Forum.
We heard about better access to credit, reducing bureaucracy, and supporting family businesses to become global enterprises. My question was straightforward:
What concrete support should SMEs expect in the next 12 months that will give us the confidence to invest, create jobs, and contribute even more to Nigeria’s economic growth?
Conversations like these matter, but what matters even more is what happens after the applause.
I’ll be watching, like many other founders, and I remain hopeful that today’s commitments become tomorrow’s results.
