The Role of Cornflour in Small Chops

‎Have you ever wondered why your samosa or spring roll wrappers become soft and sticky even before adding the filling?

‎One simple secret to achieving crispy and crunchy small chops is the use of cornflour.

‎How to apply it:
‎After frying your wrappers, allow them to cool for about a minute. Then lightly dust or sprinkle a small amount of cornflour on both sides of each wrapper.

‎Why it works:

‎- Helps keep the wrapper firm
‎- Reduces stickiness
‎- Maintains a crispy texture
‎- Makes wrapping easier

‎This simple technique can make a noticeable difference in the quality of your small chops.

‎Give it a try and let me know how it works for you. I'd love to hear about your experience!

‎A little cornflour can make a big difference! Try this simple tip for firmer, crispier samosa and spring roll wrappers, and thank me later.

How to Make Crunchy and Milky Coated Peanuts

‎Ingredients

‎- 4 cups all-purpose flour
‎- 4½ cups groundnuts (peanuts)
‎- ⅓ cup powdered milk
‎- 4 medium-sized eggs
‎- 1¼ cups sugar
‎- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
‎- 1 bottle groundnut oil (for frying)
‎- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavour

‎Method

‎Step 1: Prepare the Dry Ingredients

‎In a dry bowl, sift together the flour and powdered milk. Add the nutmeg and mix well.

‎Note: Do not sieve the nutmeg; simply add it after sifting the flour and milk.

‎Step 2: Prepare the Wet Ingredients

‎In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and add the sugar and vanilla flavour. Beat thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

‎Step 3: Coat the Groundnuts

‎Transfer the groundnuts into a large bowl to allow enough space for easy mixing.

‎Using a large spoon, add 2 spoonfuls of the egg mixture to the groundnuts and mix well. Once the groundnuts have absorbed the liquid, add a handful of the flour mixture and mix again.

‎Continue alternating between the egg mixture and the flour mixture until all the ingredients have been used up.

‎Important Tips

‎- Keep some extra flour on hand in case additional coating is needed.
‎- Be patient during the coating process and avoid rushing.
‎- Adding too much liquid or flour at once may cause the coating mixture to stick to the bowl instead of the groundnuts.
‎- When this happens, ingredients are wasted and the coated peanuts may turn out smaller than desired.

‎Step 4: Frying

‎Heat the groundnut oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated peanuts in batches until they are golden brown and crunchy.

‎Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Allow them to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

‎Result

‎Enjoy your delicious, extra-crunchy, milky-coated peanuts—perfect for snacking or sharing with family and friends.
