1) To take your egusi to the next level, use scent leave and uziza leaf for it.
2) You can also use blended uziza seed to spice up the taste of your egusi soup.
3) Old Egusi rises more than new Egusi. So take note of that, whenever you want to cook your Egusi soup.
4) It is okay to use fresh tomatoes for making egusi soup, if you choose. It is used to brighten the colour of the soup and add more unique taste to it. Just make sure you fry the tomatoes very well to remove the sour taste.

12) You can use any protein (meat or fish) of your choice to cook this delicious soup recipe. Egusi soup doesn't select proteins.
