Rainbow over Cascade - Morning Good Friday

We were delighted to welcome the Operatunity group from New Zealand after three days of flight delays. Despite the challenging journey, the group enjoyed two wonderful events at Forrester Court: a fun-filled morning of games at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, followed by a gala dinner-themed evening, “Irish Eyes.”
Seven entertainers performed uplifting tunes, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for everyone involved.

Operatunity Gala Dinner - On Thursday afternoon guests sat on the clifftop lawns sipping on bubbles overlooking the calm waters of Cascade Bay whilst being entertained. Then enjoyed a three course dinner between Operatunity brackets under a stunning full moon. It is such a pleasure to welcome this fabulous New Zealand Opera company each year to Norfolk Island. A bid shout out to my daughter who travelled from Sydney to help with this event.

Cyclone Gabrielle

Thank you for all those well wishes; Gabrielle passed overhead with a force of over 120km. Forrester Court made it through two days of dangerous winds; and was without power for 29 hours. We had prepared for the worst; guest cottages were stocked with candles, 20 litres of bottled drinking water, water buckets to flush toilets, and food supplied with some extra treats added J. Our cottages were built to a building code W80 to withstand winds of 120km+. Annabelle, to answer your concern about all those windows facing the view, they are laminated shatterproof glass. The windows became frosted with salt spray, battered by rocks and foliage you could barely see out. The boys cleared 5 truck loads of debris yesterday and still have several trees to cut up that had fallen. We have sharpened the chainsaw!
