We offer guided tours to nearby farms, where you’ll see the mythical wildlife for which Africa is famous, such as lions, leopards and cheetahs.The Kavango carver’s market is a great place to experience local artisan culture and pick up some souvenirs. And just 20km to the south lies Windhoek, the nation’s capital, with its colourful streets and distinctive German atmosphere. Immanuel Wilderness Lodge is perfectly situated in a central location. Sabine and Stephan Hock. Some opportunities are too valuable to ignore. Our family encountered one such opportunity in 2007, when we made the life-changing decision to relocate to Namibia. We packed up our old life in Germany and headed for the far side the planet in search of happiness, new challenges and a different way of living. We first visited Namibia in 2006. We had been toying with the idea of moving here, but we wanted to explore the country first. Would it be a suitable place to raise our children? To our surprise, they loved it here. Michelle, our oldest daughter, was so enthralled with the country and its people that she never wanted to go home. And as we discovered more of Namibia, we grew confident that we could have a happy family life and a secure future here. Finally, we made the decision to take over the Immanuel Lodge. While Namibian life has been immensely rewarding, the best part is getting to share the experience with our guests. We love introducing people to the charm and beauty of the place we now call home.
