I spent one month studying Islam.
I read the Quran.
I travelled to Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem.
I didnβt learn Islam from a scholar.
I learned it from my mother.
The first thing I learned is discipline.
Muslims pray five times a day, every day.
They wake up before sunrise.
They wash before every prayer.
Muslims fast one month every year.
No food.
No water.
From sunrise to sunset.
Some Muslims memorise the entire Quran, word for word.
Discipline.
Consistency.
The second thing I learned is equality.
In Mecca, everyone wears the same clothes.
No status.
No wealth.
No race.
Everyone is equal in front of God.
This is the Islam I saw in my mother.
And this is the Islam I saw in Mecca.
You donβt have to be Muslim to learn from Islam.
But the world would be better with more discipline, equality, and unity.
