In the old streets of Melaka, a small café is born with one simple mission—to let the world discover Malaysian coffee.
2006 ~The first taste of Malaysia for travelers.
Many international visitors discover that Malaysia has its own unique coffee culture.
2007 ~Culture begins to be seen.
More and more travelers step into Calanthe, using 13 states coffee as their first window into Malaysia.
2008 ~Craft and tradition.
In a fast-commercial world, we stay committed to slow brewing, slow cooking, and slow living.
2009 ~A challenging year.
Times are not easy, but we continue to believe:

2010 ~Coffee becomes connection.
People from different countries gather at one table, sharing stories and cultures.

2012 ~Discovering Liberica.
One of Malaysia’s most precious and underrated coffee varieties is found.
2013 ~Inspiring the younger generation.
We begin promoting Malaysia’s local coffee culture.
2014 ~One cup, one Malaysia.
13 states, 13 flavours—coffee becomes a unique cultural experience.
2015 ~More visitors arrive.
Melaka begins to be remembered on the world map through coffee.
2016 ~Staying original.
We do not follow trends—we stay true to our own identity.
2017 ~Human connections.
Strangers become friends inside Calanthe.
2018 ~Back to the farm.
We focus on pesticide-free farming, natural cultivation, and sustainability.
2019 ~More than coffee.
We begin exploring coffee blossoms, coffee leaves, and new possibilities.
2020 ~A year of silence.
The streets are quiet, but our belief never stops.
2021 ~Learning gratitude again.
We cherish every staff member, every guest, and every day we are still open.
2022 ~Liberica is rediscovered.
More people begin to recognize the value of Malaysian Liberica coffee.
2023 ~A year of innovation.
Pesticide-free coffee blossoms and cascara are transformed into **Liberica blossom tea** and **Liberica cascara tea**, gaining attention.
2024 ~Connecting the world.
People from different countries discover Malaysia Coffee through Calanthe.
2025 ~Going global.
Calanthe transforms naturally grown coffee leaves into rare Malaysian coffee tea series:
Coffee Leaf Black Tea, Coffee Leaf Green Tea, Coffee Leaf White Tea.
Malaysian coffee becomes more than a drink—it becomes a lifestyle.
