Origin : Grecia, San Luis

What is SL-28 ?

SL-28

A now prized variety, SL-28 was created in Kenya by Scott Laboratories in the 1930s, selected from a drought-resistant variety from Tanzania. The fruits are red when ripe and the beans are notably larger than average. This variety is considered to be capable of producing a cup with a distinct fruit flavour, often described as blackcurrant. It is quite susceptible to coffee leaf rust, and performs better at higher altitudes.

1. Colombia - CGLE - Cerro Azul Geisha Natural

Variety : Geisha
Altitude : 1700 masl
Process : Natural
Origin : Cerro Azul, Cauca

Best of Panama series 2008. In BoP 2008, the farm was placed at #1. From there onwards, Don Rigoberto has been bringing in geisha seeds from panama to his farm in Colombia.

Upon grounding the roasted coffee, it has dry aroma of strawberry, blueberry, grape and intense floral aromas. At first sip, blueberry jam, grapes, peach, lychee with fruity aroma of grapes. In the midsection, notes of bergamot an rose that continue to be in tune throughout. The coffee is elegant, complex and changeable.

2.Costa Rica - Don Joel (COE 2021 #18 Farm)

Variety : SL 28
Altitude : 1600masl
Process : Yellow Honey
Origin : Grecia, San Luis

This coffee that we have is processed as yellow honey. With the combination of acidity in the SL-28 variety and the added body of what yellow honey usually produce, the ground coffee has an aroma of smoked plum and cranberry aroma. At first sip, Blackcurrants and Cranberry. Dried redberries with Roselle flavour in the midsection. The coffee is sweet, full bodied with bright acidity.

3.Ethiopia - Gesha Village Selection

Altitude : 1966 to 2019 masl
Process : Honey
Origin : Dimma

Dimma Block – Illubabor Forest Lot 018 – Honey Process
Upon grounding, the dry aroma of peach, oolong tea and strawberry. At first sip, jasmine, black tea with lychee aroma followed by peach aroma with oolong tea floral aftertaste. The coffee is delicate.

Variety : Kartika
Altitude : 1600masl
Process : Kamala
Origin: Uwu, Nusa Tenggara

Tasting Notes : Uwu

Upon grounding, the coffee has a very aromatic aroma of mango and chocolate. Upon brewing, the coffee has an intense aroma of vanilla. At first sip, candied strawberry, grape. When it cools, the coffee became more syrupy with a hint of peach in the midsection. The coffee is juicy, sweet with clean finish.

Panama - Elida Catuai Anaerobic Slow Dry

Variety : Catuai
Altitude : 1900 masl
Process : Elida's ASD
Origin : Alto Quiel, Boquete

Tasting Notes :

Upon grounding, the coffee has an aroma of mango, strawberry and balsamic vinegar. At first sip, its rich with mango and pickled pineapple followed by strawberry, peach aroma and orange peel. The mouthfeel is sparkling, instantly seductive and velvety. The cup is airy & intense. A very detailed anaerobic process.

Colombia - Hacienda Mallorca - Competition Series

Variety : Pink Bourbon
Altitude : 1800 masl
Process : 156Hrs Anaerobic Fermentation
Origin : Valle de Cauca

Upon grounding the coffee has a dry aroma of cacao, blueberries, maraschino cherries and orange peel. At first sip, grapes, blackberries, and hint of blueberries. Following flavours include, starfruit, orange peel and mild rose water aromas. The coffee is very rich in flavour, with a clear sweetness and long after taste.
