arquitectura 911sc es una práctica profesional independiente formada por Saidee Springall y Jose Castillo dedicada a proyectos de arquitectura, planeación y diseño urbano. Entre sus reconocimientos se encuentran, el Premio Nacional de Vivienda 2011, la presea de bronce en los premios Holcim Latinoamérica para construcción sustentable en 2011, así como el premio y conferencia Emerging Voices 2012 q
ue otorga la Architectural League de Nueva York. Entre sus proyectos realizados están, la ampliación del Centro Cultural de España con Javier Sánchez, el proyecto de vivienda Integrara Iztacalco (736 unidades), el Fondo Bibliográfico Jaime García Terrés en la Ciudadela, el nuevo campus del CEDIM en Monterrey NL con Fernanda Canales, más de 30 librerías Porrúa, las oficinas del SGAE y las oficinas de Editorial Porrua, los proyectos de vivienda San Antonio 236 y la remodelación de la Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros. Actualmente se encuentran en construcción el proyecto del nuevo sistema de transporte Mexibus Pantitlán-Neza-Chimalhuacán, el Conjunto de Artes Escénicas de la Universidad de Guadalajara, realizado con Fernanda Canales y Alejandro Hernández, el nuevo edificio de Laboratorios Fílmicos y Servicios a la Producción de los Estudios Churubusco y la remodelación del Centro Cultural del Bosque y el Teatro Julio Castillo. Sus textos, investigaciones y proyectos arquitectónicos han sido expuestos en distintas Bienales internacionales (Rotterdam, Sao Paulo, Venecia), en la exhibición Dirty Work en la Universidad de Harvard, así como publicado ampliamente en revistas de México y el extranjero.

arquitectura 911sc is an independent practice based in Mexico City founded in 2002 by Saidee Springall and Jose Castillo, committed to architecture, urban design and planning projects. The firm has designed and built extensively for both public and private clients in housing, cultural, educational, infrastructure and retail programs. Amongst their recent awards and recognitions are, Mexico’s National Housing Award in 2011 for a 736-unit low-income housing development in Iztacalco, Mexico City, the bronze prize in the 2011 Latin America Holcim awards for sustainable construction for their urban renewal Master Plan for a neighborhood in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, and the Emerging Voices award and conference granted by New York’s Architectural League in 2012. Their built work includes the award-winning competitions for the expansion of the Spanish Cultural Center in Mexico City and the CEDIM in Monterrey; an architectural intervention for the Siqueiro’s Public Art Gallery, over 30 Porrua bookstores, the Library of Jaime García Terrés within the Ciudadela, the offices for the SGAE, El Mayor Restaurant and the JS32 offices, all of them in the Historic Center of Mexico City, the Amara Cancun residential complex, the SA236 Housing project. meter 3-theater facility for the new Performing Arts Center in Guadalajara, the new film labs and producers 10,000 sq. m building for Estudios Churubusco, and the renewal of the Julio Castillo theatre in Mexico City. Other projects that are being developed are a 700 hectare logistical and industrial Master Plan in the State of Hidalgo, in association with AECOM, 2 social housing projects for ARA in Mexico City, and the CAI Job Training Facility in the State of Puebla. The work and research of arquitectura 911sc has been published extensively both in Mexico and abroad and also been showcased at the 2005 Sao Paulo Biennale, the 2007 Rotterdam Biennale, the 2008 and 2012 Venice Biennale, the exhibition Dirty Work at Harvardʼs GSD in 2008, at the Mexican Contemporary Architecture Exhibition in Victoria, Australia, and in the exhibition Our Cities Ourselves for the Center for Architecture in NYC, Mexico and many other countries.
