Our older students, part of the Star Kids Café team, swapped their usual service shift for an ice cream afternoon with the little ones from the Little Yellow School House. Aprons still on, of course, because some habits stick.

Chanel Aprel and Faye Jones put together an England themed party: a table full of flags, cookies, cones, sprinkles and chocolate so everyone could build their ice cream their own way. There were crowns, laughs, and more than a few trips back for seconds.

Thank you, Chanel and Faye, for such a sweet moment for big kids and little ones alike. Time spent together like this is part of growing up together too. 💛💙

Este mes patrio lo celebramos con mucho orgullo. 🇲🇽💛

Nuestro equipo de Star Kids Café se vistió de fiesta para recibir a la comunidad con banderitas, sonrisas y mucho cariño mexicano. Ver a nuestros estudiantes atendiendo mesas, compartiendo un café y celebrando nuestras raíces es un recordatorio de todo lo que construyen día a día.

Y esta semana tenemos otra razón para celebrar: ¡Josue volvió al Centro! Su regreso nos llena de alegría y nos recuerda por qué hacemos este trabajo.

Septiembre nos invita a recordar de dónde venimos y a seguir creciendo juntos, como comunidad y como familia.

This Independence Month, we’re celebrating with pride. 🇲🇽💛

Our Star Kids Café team dressed up in their best fiesta spirit to welcome the community with little flags, smiles, and a whole lot of Mexican heart. Seeing our students serving tables, sharing a coffee, and celebrating our roots is a reminder of everything they build every day.

And this week we have another reason to celebrate. Josue is back at the Center! His return fills us with joy and reminds us why we do this work.

September invites us to remember where we come from and to keep growing together, as a community and as a family.

Every day at Star Kids Café is a new opportunity to learn. 💛

Our students show up, put on their aprons, and get to work: taking orders, serving tables, and connecting with every person who walks through the door. Real skills, in a real setting.

That is what makes this project so special. It is not just a café. It is a space where every shift is a lesson and every customer is part of the learning.
