After many wonderful years serving this community, we have made the difficult decision to close Tacomaya.

This was not an easy decision, and one we are taking the time to process privately.

Unfortunately, unexpected changes to our lease terms meant we were no longer able to continue operating in this location, and the option to remain while finding a path forward was no longer available to us.

An unexpected injury this past week has also meant we’ve been unable to reopen, and it has become clear that we won’t be able to continue service as we had hoped.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of Tacomaya’s story, building on what came before us, and deeply grateful for every customer, friend, and supporter who has been part of this journey. We’ll be closed today for Labour Day so our incredible team can take a well-earned break—and we’re giving them an extra day on Monday too.

It felt like a good moment to pause, recharge, and gear up for the summer ahead.

Just a couple of the faces behind Tacomaya 😊

Lately we’ve been feeling extra grateful for this little place — and for all the people who’ve been part of it, whether you’ve been coming for years or just discovered us recently.

It’s a good reminder not to take these days for granted.
