If you missed her, get ready for a brand-new musical experience: Vicky’s V***r Rub, featuring Victoria Ballote and her latest quartet of top musicians! They perform a mesmerizing fusion of Funky-Rock-Jazz, showcasing Victoria’s magnetic stage presence and obvious love for musical exploration. Victoria has gained recognition across Mexico for her powerful saxophone playing that crosses genre lines, effortlessly converting hard-core rock, funk, and pop fans into jazz lovers. We first met Victoria in 2014 when she was part of L*D (Los Santos Domingazos), an all-instrumental jazz band performing rock and funk covers. They were the first all-instrumental jazz band to keep the dance floor packed all night long.While Victoria was a student of music back then, today she inspires a new generation of musicians as a teacher for the Bachelor of Jazz Studies program at a top university in Veracruz. She is rapidly becoming one of the main jazz influencers across Mexico, and her ensembles are celebrated by institutions, media, and fellow musicians internationally.Victoria's father, Pepe, is a famous saxophonist—and the apple does not fall far from the tree. With her great voice, masterful saxophone skills, and innovative production creativity, she just might be even better than her dad! We count ourselves as her biggest fans (right after her father) and are always excited when she performs at Lizard Joe's Yucatexa. Occasionally, her father even joins her on stage, so you can see this incredible family talent for yourself!

Join us this Monday, August 17th at Lizard Joes Sandi Guy beach Brunch featuring live saxophone and guitar stylings of Epick Duo. Music starts at 12:30 PM. Don't miss it!
Enjoy great food, ocean views, and live music from the Epick Duo, featuring Handys on saxophone and Hubell on guitar (playing upside-down!), this Cuban-trained duo brings an elegant, fresh mix of Latin, jazz, pop, and bossa nova right to the beach.

Handys is a professional saxophonist, performer, and music educator currently based in Mérida, Yucatán. He performs at concerts, weddings, restaurants, and private events, bringing a versatile repertoire that ranges from Latin and Cuban music to pop, jazz, bossa nova, and contemporary styles. He is also dedicated to teaching and developing new musicians.
Hubell is a talented playing upside down guitarist and a member of the well-known band El Fresa y La Sentencia in Mérida, Yucatán. His experience and versatility as a guitarist allow him to adapt to different musical styles and create a great connection with the audience.

These two professional musicians originally trained in Cuba, where their musical journey began. They studied music formally and have explored a wide variety of musical genres and styles throughout their careers.

Together, they bring a combination of saxophone and guitar with a fresh, elegant, and versatile sound, perfect for creating a special atmosphere for events and live music experiences.
