WE ARE RIPPING YOU OFF.
At least, that is what it may look like when you compare our prices across different ordering channels.
The truth is that running a food business has never been more expensive.
Today, most of our orders come through delivery platforms such as Wolt and Bolt, where commission rates can range from 28% to 35%—excluding VAT.
Then there are the costs people rarely see.
The cost of employing a strong team—and paying them a wage that does more than simply help them survive. Our people work long hours in intense heat, under pressure, and at a pace that demands skill, commitment and resilience. We believe they deserve to be properly compensated for it.
There is VAT, rising food costs, packaging, utilities, equipment, maintenance, licences, insurance and countless other operating expenses.
Most importantly, there is the cost of using the freshest and best ingredients we can source. That is something we take pride in, something you deserve, and something we refuse to compromise on.
For Heirloom to continue investing, improving and delivering the quality you expect from us, we have made a difficult but necessary decision.
Our prices on delivery platforms will increase by approximately 5% to 15%, depending on the true cost of each individual dish.
But here is the other side of that decision.
To reward customers who visit us in Qormi or order directly from Heirloom, we are also reducing our in-store and direct-order prices by approximately 5% to 15%.
That means better prices when you order directly—and food enjoyed at its freshest, without quality deteriorating during long delivery journeys.
We are not asking you to stop using delivery platforms. They provide convenience and remain an important part of our business.
We are simply being transparent about what that convenience costs, while giving you a better-value alternative whenever possible.
Raising prices is never an easy decision. But for the future of Heirloom, our team, and the quality of food we serve, it is the responsible one.
Thank you for your understanding, support of local businesses, and continued belief in what we are building.
